Moon Dance Cliffs

Recommended Posts

Their response was just that they will stock the bars in all of the villas (that we are using) every night before they leave and we can make additional requests when we get there. In addition to that we will probably just see if they can leave a couple coolers with beer in addition to the fully stocked bar and I think we should be ok. We'll try this the first night and if doesnt work well I think they will be accomodating to figure something else out.

OO and about vendors...

PICTURES- My fiances friend from high school and his wife are photographers, we are meeting with them in the next week or so to see if bringing them with is an option. I have also been looking into people there... any recomendations would be great for local photographers!!!

FLOWERS- I am having a designer here make most of our centerpieces, my boquet, the boutonnieres and corsages and decor flowers for the ceremony/gazebo with artificial flowers&leaves and then we are bringing them with us in suitcases. I am using floral fantasies (rec by MDC) for a few larger centerpiece item that require glass vases bc I dont want to deal w transporting glass. Our colors are going to be lots of greenery with cream and tan flowers and brown accents.

CAKE- who ever MDC rec

MUSIC- we are thinking about just renting their PA system and using an ipod but i am wondering if people will have more fun and be more into dancing and stuff if we have an actual dj. I think the dj they reccomend is kind of expensive and so if we go the dj route I need to shop around (again, any rec would be great!) I think we are also going to hire the fire dancers.

I am anxious to see what everyone elses plans are. Also, one photographer I got a quote from is photographing a wedding here this coming weekend and is going to send me a link to this pictures. I cant wait to see them. I am really wanting to see more pictures of actual weddings here!!!

Thanks for posting all your information! Can you post the link to the photos for the wedding there this weekend when you get it too?

So far I'm going kind of slow in the planning process b/c I feel like I still have so much time before our wedding date. But I also want fire dancers and a DJ; so I'll be interested to hear any quotes that people can post for us.

I also want to knwo if anyone who has already had their wedding at MDC used the spa there for your hair and make up and if so were you happy with the way it turned out?

My friend used the spa services there for her hair, she liked it. My wedding is in less than 60 days and I'm finding I have more and more questions for the coordinator- typical stress time mode I guess.

We will be using an ipod for the reception too- the DJ MDC recommended seems way overpriced. (I'd rather spend the money on the fire dancer we got!). Anyone have any song recommendations for the wedding processional?

Hello ladies!

I am getting married at MCD in April. I am also planning on using my ipod for the reception. Haven't decided what to do for the ceremony yet. Thinking about steel drums just for the ceremony.

I looked into photographers in Negril quite a bit. My top three ended up being:

- Brian Nejedly [email protected]

- Stacey Clarke [email protected]

- Misha Earle [email protected]

I was going to use Stacey Clarke and then at the last minute decided to take someone from the states with me for the whole weekend. It looks like everyone on this forum has loved the trash the dress sessions so make sure to ask the photographers about that.

Happy planning!

I am getting married at Moon Dance Villas and we have scheduled the fire dancer, steel drums and will be using our ipod. When I met with Oneika she mentioned that since we were having 20-30 guests, a band would probably too much (like overkill). I agree. So we are using our ipod. I am still on the fence about a videographer though.

Hey guys...we are also thinking of going the iPod route sheerly for budgetary reasons. My only concern is that obviously an iPod can't sense the current vibe and put on an appropriate song (ie. chose something lively if things are starting to die down) how do you guys plan to avoid this happening?

We are assigning one of the groomsmen help with the music and announcements. So he will announce the first dance, father/daughter dance etc, and he is also going to be keeping an eye on the dance floor and the vibe and will just click skip if a song seems out of place... Hopefully this works ok!

The thing we haven't figured out is music during the ceremony!

@lbcs, I am bringing a photographer in from the states too- prices seemed pretty comparable.

@Mietra- I was looking into the steel drum band too- but I don't know how long everyone wants to listen to them for though (plus we have a small amount of guest, so I know we won't be burning up the dance floor). How long are you using them for?

For anyone staying at the Cliffs- make sure u mention if you want pics done at the beach- they may have to move the ceremony time in order to fit them in.
