US Air crash in NYC - Hudson river

I was watching TV and they broke in with a special report about US Airways plane crashing into the Hudson River when taking off from LaGuardia airport. They seem to think it was due to a bird strike, not terrorists. Scary.

o my goodness. i hate to hear about tragic news, but plane crashes really get to me.

they seem to think everyone is going to get out..people were already on the wings waiting to be rescued when the ferries got there

I can't imagine how cold they are! I know it is cold here and I live in Ohio. It was only 7 degrees today. They seem to think that everyone is off of the plane now.

ya they think everyone is off the plane now...and apparently they have a ferry holding onto the plane and they are trying to pull it towards land..im hoping everyone is ok

Thankfully everyone appears to be safe! When I saw the news break, my stomach dropped and I thought the worst. I could never imagine being on a plane and going through that. I am praying for the people that were on the plane!

msn says that the plane hit a flock of geese....wow...who would have thought that a flock of geese could bring down an airbus.
