How much are your guests paying?

Recommended Posts

My guests are flying in from many different cities, and they're free to stay at whatever hotel they like since my wedding is at a beach club, so costs will vary from person to person.  But here's an estimate:

  • round-trip airfare from NYC to Cancun is around $500 per person
  • hotel rooms in Tulum are $100 - $300 / night for two people
  • let's assume each guest stays for 5 nights and spends $50 - $100 / day on food and activities

So if the guests want to do it on a budget, they can come for less than $1000 per person; if they want to splurge, could be $1800+.

We are getting married at the El Dorado Royale (gourmet all inclusive) in Riviera Maya, Mexico and our guest cost breakdown is:

Flights ranged from $300 to $600 depending on when the guests purchased them and where they were flying from in the U.S.

For lowest category room (everyone in our group is staying in these rooms):

For 4 nights (majority of our guests are staying for nights):

1 person: $860 per person

2 people: $660 per person

We have guests flying in from all over, most flights are $400 - 500/person and we booked rooms at 2 different hotels.  The hotel where the wedding will be is 329/night and a second hotel is 159/night so people have the option to stay where they want and for however long they want to stay!

  • 3 weeks later...

The majority of our guests will be flying in from either Boston/New York and Chicago. It looks like flights are around $450. We are waiting on the room block contact to come back but I think double occupancy at Now Sapphire (all-inclusive) will be about $250/night. It seems like most guests are going to be be staying four nights (Thur-Mon) so my best guess is about $1000 pp.

Our guests are paying just under $1500 all in for flight, taxes and 7 nights.  Most people have thought it is a good price for a 5 star but we have had one friend who made a point in telling us how he went to Mexico for around $1k last year on a last minute deal (I bit my tongue and didn't say yes for a 3 star you booked a week out - haha!)

We are getting married at The Royal (adult only), Playa del Carmen. Some of our guests are staying there and others are staying right next door at The Gran Porto (kid friendly)

Guest's staying at The Royal paid $2300.00 for 2 people. That incluces flight, hotel (AI) and transfers to and from the resort.

Guest's staying at The Gran Porto paid $1996.00 for 2 people. That incluces flight, hotel (AI) and transfers to and from the resort

Both of these are for 4 nights/5 days with an oceanview room. I think we got a good deal!
