Has anyone used Shavon's Wedding Silks?

Recommended Posts

Jackie's flowers from Shavon were really beautiful so I would hold tight and see if she responds, she could just be really busy. Plus her portfolio of designs looks amazing!

But if you gals are looking and eager, I would also try Roberta with PlumeriasWeddingFlowerBoutique -- she did my florals and a bunch of other gals on here and she was a dream to work with! wink.gif She also responds pretty quickly.

Yeah i would start contacting others as your date is coming up soon. I gave her 3 weeks and no word so I booked with someone else that was quick to respond.

Ok this makes me feel much better... I think.

I requested a quote from Shavon, she got back to me about two weeks later. We discussed options, she sent me pictures and then I wrote her back with my final decision over a month ago... she hasn't gotten back to me since. I even wrote her and asked if I offended her LOL! Nothing...

This makes me weary of doing business with someone that is so bad at responding to emails =/

WOW sorry girls! She always responded to me w/in 24 hours. I havent talked to her since I've been home but just before i left she had some medical emergencies and was going through surgeries and was so great and getting my stuff done when she could. i don't know specifics of her medical condition but could be having some effect on your responses. I will email her and let her know that i've posted about her on here and alot of girls have sent requests w/ no answer and how this might effect her!

I am using Shavon for our flowers. My FMIL lives close to her, so she was able to go in person and see them. Shavon then, also sent me, free of charge, a sample of what I wanted (I emailed her a photo of a bouquet I had liked). I LOVED it! I just asked her about creating pomanders for the aisle, and she's developing a quote for those too. I don't have my camera here at work, but, the bouquet I got is on her website here: real touch wedding flowers natural touch flowers real touch bouquet my bouquet is the 3rd from the bottom (scroll way down), with the cymbidium orchids and pink and hot pink roses).

beachbum the I ended up Shavon because although the centerpieces were quoted the same price as other real touch vendors her bouquets were slightly cheaper and the pomander sold it for me. We did a 4" pomander for my daughter and other vendors were charging $80-$120 and Shavon only charged me $15! The middle ball was 4" but the pomander ended up about 8"

  • 2 weeks later...

Ladies I talked to Shavon today!

Her business has grown so quickly she's having a hard time catching up! She is receiving on average 500 quotes per week. She has an assistant, but they are just unable to get everything done and do every quote. She had some emergency surgeries a few months ago so she's had an assistant helping her. She is working on building her business to accomodate all of this but only can do so much at a times since she still has so much work to do. For quotes she started a lottery system. She randomly picks so many quotes a day to look at if she can't accomodate the date she picks another one. She just randomly picks, not based on budget or anything she doesn't have time to look through all of them and pick by budget, etc she just pics a few and sends them a quote.

So if you're really interested in her work and want a quote email the form, if you don't hear back send another, and so on. I spent over a month looking for the right floral company to give me just what i wanted and the best deal. Most of that time was spent waiting on replies. I will tell you Shavon was very quick for me. She had some medical issues a couple months ago and still managed to get me my flowers a month early!!

The only thing I can mention regarding Shavon's is that a couple months ago I filled out the online form and waited over a month but never received a call or e-mail. Luckily, around the time I started getting tired of waiting for someone from Shavon to contact me, my fiance and I attended a friend's wedding in NYC and she had drop-dead gorgeous artificial flowers she had ordered from a florist in Michigan. You couldn't even tell the flowers were artificial and she had really great things to say about her experience so that's who I booked. It's Something Spectacular at Something Spectacular high quality silk bridal bouquets and fresh wedding flowers. They are located about 4 hours away from me in the Detroit area but I've been working with them through phone and e-mail.

I've been really pleased with them so far and the designer assigned to my order has given me some great ideas about flowers and color combinations that I wouldn't have even thought about. Our order is going to be small and our date was still available when I booked so it wasn't an issue for us but their work has been published in wedding books and magazines so they're very popular and you have to book them a year or more in advance if you have a popular date or a large order. My assigned designer told me they can sometimes fit in small orders even if the date is already booked so that may help other brides like me who are having small wedding parties.
