How did your guests react to honeymoon registries?

i have been to weddings with the honeymoon registry and I love the idea. I would rather get them something memorable that they would enjoy then another kitchen appliance.

Its just that we definately don't want to register for things that we already have...

In all honesty I would want to just get cash, although there's no right way to ask for that!

exactly. if u register for appliances, its usually just newer appliances that u already have. & they really is not a polite way to ask for cash, so the honeymoon registry would save u money, so u will have that extra cash in ur pocket still.

i think it is perfectly acceptable to ask for cash, there are a lot of cute poems about how we have everything we need, but a gift of cash would be great.

 

people are realistic, if you have been living together, its likley that you already have everything!

Yeah, the poem may work with my family... I would really want gift cards or cash. I dunno, I don't want to be tacky about things..

Liberty Travel is doing our honeymoon registry... Basically, people buy you things toward your trip like "Lobster dinner for two" or "massage"... and then when all is said and done, you close out the account and LT cuts you a check for the amount that people contributed toward it. My TA said a ton of people do it, and it helps offset the cost of the wedding! What do you think??
