Top 100 Baby Names of 2008

I think this is the first time "Carly" has made it on a top anything list! I always look for my name places, but it's never there. #72 this year.

I know, it's weird how names go thru phases. You think you have a super cool idea for a name, you name your child and there are 5 others in the same area. (I don't know that from my own experience, but my sister named her son Liam and then noticed how many Liam's there were. And my sister in law named her daughter Mia and in the nursery at the hospital, at the same time, there were 2 other Mia's!)

It's funny that Peyton made it on both sides of the list too.

An old high school friend of mine has a girl named McKenna. She's about 5 or 6. She named her that because it was her maiden name, but she and the dad have separated... she has kept the dad's last name for her girl, otherwise the girl would be called McKenna McKenna. LOL!

I know what you mean about phases. There were no Jennifers or Jasons or Erins.

My name is Erin Elizabeth. It had all of this significance to my mom. My initials used to be eec and e.e. cummings is one of her favorite poets, our family is Irish, Elizabeth was a family name and the name of her best friend's daughter, the list goes on.

Too bad that in the early 80's the Waltons were really popular and that is where most of the other Erins came from, the sisters Erin and Elizabeth.

I noticed Sarah Connor right away! lol

So my baby name are #20 Connor & #74 Lucy... I really didn't care about having a "unique" name. I grew up with being one of 5 Sarah's everywhere I went (even my stepsister is Sara) and I never felt any less important.
