Hola! Michigander(?) looking to get married in Mexico/Caribbean

Hi everybody!

 

I'm in Michigan (brrrrrr). Date is not set but we are looking at 2010. We are looking at Mexico primarily. I have gathered quite a bit of info on this site so far - but I'm assuming it's the same for everyone in the U.S., that the only ceremony in Mexico recognized as legal would be the civil one? (We are Catholic and would like to have a Catholic ceremony)

 

My understanding is we'd have to do both a civil and Catholic one?

Yes, you are correct, you would have to do both for it to be a legal mexican wedding.
