Tanning Lotion w/Bronzer...sigh

If you still have a problem with no lotion on, then I'd stick to UV-Free tanning. But, if you don't have a problem without the lotion, I would shop around for good stuff that doesn't cause you problems, because dry tanning will dry out your skin and age it prematurely.

Blah, so I saw my doctor on Friday and he told me that he didn't think that I was allergic to anything, just have a sensitivity. All he told me to do was either stop tanning, tan w/o lotion, do a patch test on different lotions, and take anti-histamines to reduce the itching and swelling. In other words, he was pretty much not at all helpful! sad.gif

I've waited a few days and I think I'll just try tanning again tomorrow...

Hey gals!

I currently work at a tanning salon and have been there for two years. It's my "adult" job after I'm done teaching my second graders all day! Any hoot, don't shy away from tanning lotions with bronzers, you just need to do your research! I've also used Designer Skin's Spellbound for years! I love the silicone that's in it and it goes on very evenly! I've tried many lotions and this is one I always go back too! Also, there is a new line out by MR International called the i-line. I am currently using iBronze and iIntensity. These have both been great with no streaking! I highly recommend using regular lotion on a daily basis to keep your skin mosturized all the time! Also, be sure to be drinking that water! Hydrated and mosturized skin will give you the best glowing tan! If you would rather shy away from tanning lotions, just be sure to use a regular lotion before you tan, that will at least give you some moisturizer so your skin doesn't dry out.

If you're worried about the tanning bed not being cleaned thoroughly, ask the consultants to use the cleansing spray. I have a few clients who prefer to reclean the bed when they go in. I have no problem with this! I'd rather they be comfortable then not!

If you're going to spray tan, ask them about the solution that they use! Our solution is a sugar based solution which reacts on your skin the way the juice in an apple reacts when it's cut open. The exposure to air causes a browning which gives you a nice brwon glow. It's not a bronzer that is dying your skin!

Hope you all have good luck with yoru tanning! I myself can't go without that Vitamin D! It really keeps me alive and cheery when we have this bitter cold weather!

Happy Tanning! Christy

I now use 20x Black Diamond or something like that. It has silicone and goes on reallly nicely. Before I was using something like bootcamp, and it died my fingers. It had 4 bronzers and the one I use now has 20, but the 4 were way more intense. I dont get it at all, but I do like the way this one makes my skin feel.

The place I go for spray tan uses versaspa vs mystic tan. They say that is better, but I have never used mystic tan. The versa is really nice though.
