you might be ok, if you ordered some extra, you could always pick out the larger, closer to the 4 inch ones, it depends where you get them from some sellers send all closer to 3" when you order 3'4", but you might get lucky

Thanks for the input. I actually ordered exactly 2 dozen 3-4 inch starfish for my 24 guests. about 6 are on the 3 inch side. I was planning to either use them as escort cards or place cards. I might want to order the 4-6 in ones now.sad.gif.
However, I think I might be ok if I use the 4'' ones as an escort card to the table, since I will only need about 15 cards if I put couples together.

Do you know if you have escort cards and table numbers do you also need place cards at the table? Not sure what the proper etiquette is here. What do you guys think?

That would depend on whether or not you have assigned seating at the tables.  If you just want your guests to go to Table 3 and sit whereever, then you don't need the place cards.  But if you have a pattern, or want Aunt Jane to sit between Uncle John and Cousin Bob, then you should supply them.

I haven't decided yet if I'm doing the placecards... I'm thinking of leaving it a little more casual and just letting people choose their own seat.  What is everyone else doing?

I am in complete agreement - you only need place cards if you need particular people in particular seats.  I do not plan on having place cards as there aren't any guest conflicts that can't be settled by directing them to different tables....  It is also a money saver and one less thing to pack if you do without the place cards.
