Friends Engagement

my friend and her boyfriend just got engaged, I am very happy for her. But when she told me she said they were going to wait for Jamaica, during the week of our wedding, i told her I would of been upset about it, now she is mad at me for it.

 

Is it wrong for me saying that and feeling this way?

personally i would be upset and i dont think its right of them to use your wedding week as the week they get married, on the same vacation everyone else is on.

 

there have been lots of discussions about this subject, and i've always said that they wouldnt be on the vacation with you if it werent for your wedding, so they should wait and do it on their own week, or at least not on YOUR wedding vacation. all the work and stress over picking a place and setting things up, and they are riding your coattails. i dont think its cool at all

Sorry...I'm a little confused ~ what does she mean when she says "she's gonna wait until Jamaica?" Wait for Jamaica, for what -- to get married, announce her engagement?

it may have been unnecessary to say so, but don't worry about it too much - she'll get over it...she'll probably realize soon as a bride-to-be she wouldn't want anyone getting engaged at HER wedding either

It's kind of a moot point now, since it didnt happen during your wedding week.

me too, I'm confused. Wait to get engaged in Jamaica, or they want to get married in Jamaica?

If it's the latter.. that's no good.

They were going to wait to get engaged in Jamaica, and she was upset he never waited.

And she keeps telling me she wished he would of waited after what i told her, and is mad i would be upset.

Shouldn't she be happy that she got engaged - period? Regardless of when or where.

 

Maybe you can tell her she'll notice all the wedding details more closely at your DW, I know I've noticed all the little things at other people's weddings once I got engaged.

I was just reading your friend problems, dont friends just suck some times.
