Jones - If they are just dropping off, you don't have to pay... (at least at the Beach resort) I was told that my florist doesn't need a permit to come and set up my centerpieces...

My Wedding is May 1, 2011. We are just getting group quotes through out TA. I'm not sure if the rate we are quoting is good or not. I'm starting to compare pricing through other TA's. We will be departing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Wednesday April 27th. The latest price we were quoted was $1589 + $278 Tax until October 31st, after that there's an extra $170 for not meeting the early booking date. I'm told all our guests need to book by this date to get the group "deal". I don't know if $1867 is really a deal. My next task is to call all my guests, family and friends coming from Canada and see if they want to be included with the group. Every 16th person is free, up to 4 free tickets. My fiance and I are hoping to get a couple free tickets, but we don't know if all of our guests will be able to afford this price.

Is this unreasonable, or is this a good price?

We sent out our save the date in June, and told our quests where we will be getting married, but that's all they know so far.

Thanks for any thoughts or advice! Getting a bit nervous.

Like Breeze said...I believe if someone is just dropping someone off, they don't have to pay the vendor fee. In Lisa's Iberostar Suites Review, she had a flower vendor drop off fowersand set up her tables, and then he left. There was no fee for him.

I would check w/ Nicole or the WC if you have somone just "dropping" some items off. :)

I am flying my wedding group 1/2 from Vancouver and 1/2 from Toronto. We are using Air Canada Vacations.

Prices below include return (direct) flights during high season and are for a Gardenview room. Our original prices were higher than this but then they dropped about 2 weeks ago. My agent got us the lower prices for everyone and she is amazing. We also have every 17th free.

Jan 28- Feb 4th:

From Vancouver $1519 + $275 tax

From Toronto $1239 + $289 tax

I would WAIT to book, the prices will go down by a lot. My original quotes when I was about 10 months from the wedding were about $400-$500 MORE then the prices we are getting. I know it is hard to wait but it is the best way. I don't think your TA is scamming you but the prices are almost always higher the earlier you book.

Thanks Misee17 and Breeze616. I didn't think that sounded right for vendors!
