It's your call really. If he's already dressed differently from the other guys then there's no need to stand out if you like the look of them having the same bout. My groom is wearing the same flower but in a different colour than the rest of the guys in the wedding party.

In response to the PSA... I am in the same situation, ladies. Just found out that ALL 3 Hotels are completely booked the days before my wedding (Fri 1/27 and Sat 1/28), and not everyone who wanted to attend are booked yet! We have 15 booked so far. Luckily things open up the actual day of my wedding (Sun 1/29). Did some research online and found out there are TWO conventions and a Jazz Festival at the Iberostar the week before my wedding. I was told that January was there down season, but the place is going to be PACKED! UGH!!! Crazy!!!

Our wedding date is 2/17/12 and was supposed to be at the Suites.  Last week we found out they were booked solid and our TA sucked and didn't block rooms for us.  I asked the WC if they could accomodate us in any way, but we were unable to stay at the beach and still get married at the suites because under the contract, bride, groom and 90% of guests have to stay at the hotel where the wedding takes place. Luckily the same date was available at the Beach, so we switched hotels.  I guess there are a lot of large groups at the suites in February and my new and much better TA said the Beach is starting to fill up quickly, so encourage your guests to book ASAP.  Thankfully, we have a small guest list (20 people) so it wasn't that much of a hassle to call everyone with our new TA info.

I'm doing a different flower/different color, and other than that just a diff color tie.

 

PS. I hope you don't mind but I'm totally going to have to catch your wedding from afar! There's like 4 or 5 of us in a row starting the 3rd I believe- it would be so fun if we could all meet to share a toast at some time!!! :)

Two things:

 

I am going to do cocktails after a semi-private dinner at the lobby bar and then heading to the Disco when it opens.  I plan on doing my first dance right after we walk down the aisle.  Because I don't have Misha Earle for more than 5 hours, I want to make sure theres a picture of that.  This way I don't need to hire a DJ either.  It's our way of keeping costs down.  I spent an insane over budget amount on my dress and am starting to feel that pinch on my budget.  Unfortunately, this is where things are getting cut down.  Plus, I'm starting to get irritated about extra costs for booze/food at an all-inclusive.  So I'm boycotting.

 

32 bucks pp for a beach dinner?  I was just quoted 50 bucks pp...  Why is it that I'm getting such messed up answers than everyone else?  First the florist crap, now this.  Are there different beach dinners or is this resort just that messed... Sorry, just had to vent my frustrations.  I'm starting to think about calling management or something because this is just getting beyond irritating.

And I'm a bit mad because I just found out that I can't have the disco.  I asked to book it back in July, and she said it was too early to book, but she would put me on the list.  I asked again later, no response.  Now she says the disco is booked, so I'm not impressed.  We don't have 40 people to rent out a restaurant, and doing the semi-private dinner plus disco was our way of keeping the budget down anyway (since the disco is cheaper, and includes DJ and open bar too).

 

So now I'm back to square one with planning.  I'm considering doing a beach party after the semi-private dinner, or maybe a beach BBQ.  I have a menu list for a beach BBQ, and it's $32 per person, plus I would have to pay extra for open bar and DJ, thats's really over the budget.  Plus, we were planning a welcome party on the beach, with bonfire and appetizers, so that may become redundant now.  I'm so frustrated.

 

What do you guys suggest?  Sorry I haven't been on the board much, so I'm not up to date on all the chatter lately, but I'd love to know what everyone is planning other than restaurant rental or disco.

Also, are people doing garters?  I'm thinking about not having it.  I have a sheath dress and am worried it would show through.  That and I guess I'm not really sure of the purpose.  As you can tell, I'm a no frills/cut costs/non-traditional type of person.
