And thanks for the support regarding my runaway MOH.  I'm actually just taking it and making it into a positive thing.  It'll probably save me a headache and it will save me some money.

Hey Erin! I just got a couple emails from Jodi the other day and she likes to throw out different prices, but she hasn't mentioned anything to me about the deposit or when payments are due. I'm glad you mentioned it since we are getting married the same day. I'm starting to get freaked out. I can't believe it's getting so close.

Regarding Tai Flora, my wedding is about 2 1/2 months away, and I got my quote back from Jodi-Ann this week.  If I'm remembering from my phone conversation a month ago with Jodi-Ann, they require a deposit of half down two months before and then the rest two weeks before.  I probably would have liked to know the numbers that I was working with a little sooner, but she was great about sending me ideas and changing colors in the bouquet that I wanted.  they seem to operate similar to the hotel in that they don't need final details until only a few short months before the wedding.  I know that doesn't help all of the frustrations, but hopefully it helps a few.  I'm a planner too, so I totally get it.  However, this whole wedding is forcing me into more of an island mode in general which my snaity and my FI appreciate.  cheers.gif

I too got a response from JodiAnn! Maybe all of our complaints to the wedding coordinator did some good!

If anyones interested, I got some quotes on boutonnieres that aren't ridiculous - $18-$22 depending on what you choose. And she quoted me $60 for 3 different sized cylinder vases with submerged orchids and 4  votives. I think I might go with that. I don't want to bring centerpieces down there, we will have enough other stuff to worry about!

That does sound like a good price. So do the 3 vases have votive candles in them or just the orchids? So it'd be 3 vases and 4 smaller votive candles. Do you know yet how many guests you'll have or tables you'll need?

futuremrstgun,

It's 3 different sized vases, with the submerged orchids and 4 votives. Of course, $60 plus tax. I'm looking for some cylinder vases for the bridesmaid bouquets to go in, that way i can leave them on the head table and use them as decorations once we are seated for dinner!

Also, we are trying to decide on the bonfire for a welcome party/rehearsal dinner (no wedding party, so no need for an actual rehearsal dinner). Does anyone have any input on their experience with that? I'd love to only have to pay for an hour, but am afraid it wouldn't be enough time. But then again there's only going to be 15-20 of us anyways. Input? cheesy.gif

What i am especially looking forward to is getting pictures back from our photographer. After looking at the portfolios and price lists of many different photographers we went with Misha Earle, and could not be happier with her work. Many people in our wedding party and interested in varying degrees of photography and were impressed with her fun professionalism and picture setups. If you are still looking for a photographer, please please PLEASE  go take a look. She is worth the bit extra money.

As for dindin...Calabash was fab, great food that even the foodies were happy with. We paid extra for wine, so it would not be the house stuff which i think complemented the meals perfectly. We didnt privatize the Calabash so we had the 800 to play around with. Because of the way we laid out the tables, in two rows, and where they positioned us, we didnt see any of the other guests. Perfect.

I could give a formal review, but i do feel that they get a bit repetitive.. we all know its a great place, that is why we chose it!

ohhh, one thing i did that seems different than other brides: i went with the bridal package from the spa- $300. first off, i think it was one of the better facials i have ever had, and the pricing for that is over $100 in itself, so once you add a manipedi, hair and makeup on it...it all is quite reasonable.. my hair (without a test) turned out better than i could have imagined, and did not move in the high winds...i went with all up, and am very happy that i did. makeup, i thought was a bit on the heavy side..but then it started to settle in to the skin and was perfect. sadly i had a little bit of a tear fest in the room when my sister was adjusting one of my earrings (all of those happy bridal moments), and i kinda smeared my make up...makeup team met me at the beach to repair...Love them.

me thinks..thats it..
