Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

For past Suite brides or anyone that has gone to the Suites for a site visit recently, do you remember what night of the week they had the beach party with bon fire, fire dancer, etc.?  I am looking to do a beach party the night before the wedding, but don't want to spend the money if it is the same night as the one the resort is doing.

A coworker of my MOH just returned from the Suites where they had the bonfire on Thursday night, not sure if that changes from time to time though so you should probably still check with the WC closer to the time of your wedding.

MrsDesz,

I think you should check with the WC on this topic.  I know some resorts will only hand out so many wedding passes based on the number you have actually staying on the resort.  So there is a possibilitty that not everyone would be able to attend/get a pass.   I would really try to get 90% to stay at your wedding resort.  If not perhaps you should look to have the ceremony where everyone is staying.

In my contract it says that you have to have 90 percent of the guests staying at the Iberostar properties to have the wedding.  So like vbbbtk says, I would either pick a resort people are staying at or inform people that by staying at a different resort they aren't guaranteed entrance into the resort for the wedding and will have to pay fees.  This includes transfer to and from their hotel and day passes. Im sure that will deter people from staying if your heart is set on the Iberostar property.  If money is an issue for some of the guests, by the time you have the transfer and day pass fees added in there, I'm sure it's pretty close to the same price if not more.  In my personal experience, day passes for weddings at a different resort suck.  I paid 130 bucks for one to Secrets and didn't think it was anything close to being worth it.

My contract states the same thing.  I see what you are saying.....So only 10% of the total number of wedding guests would be able to get passes.

All of the people who are booking early are staying at the resort.  I'm just concerned about the guests who book later.

I agree with you.  I don't think it's worth it to pay for a pass and transportation to and from the wedding.  I'll just have to deter them because we've already chosen this resort.  I wonder if I can put something in the save the date to inform guests that they should only be looking into accomodations at IRHB?  Any suggestions?

From what I remember reading on an earlier thread, the bonfire is Thurday nights.

How long are your guests staying in Jamaica? If they want to go for a week you could tell them they can book 3 nights (depending on when during the week you have the wedding) and then go elsewhere for the rest of their week. Ex: if your wedding is on wednesday then they could spend Sat-Wed at whatever resort they choose and then check in at the IRHB on Wednesday in time for the wedding. I'm not sure if this would save money after all or not, they'd need a travel agent to help work it out for sure. We made it clear to our travel agent that they have to be a guest at the IRHB the night of the wedding itself so that when our guests call to book she could pass that info on to them, otherwise they will have to worry about their own transport/daypass.
