Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

I am very surprised to find out we can only dance/party until 10:30.  I wish I had seen this before I booked this place... a lot of my family will not like the disco but love to dance and they were looking forward to this part of the wedding.  I guess it is, what it is at this point.

Is your dj just packing up and moving outside then after the restaurant? Will you have to give him take down/ set up time? I had also planned to do the dancefloor on the beach but I dont know if it's worth it for just an hour or two.

Ceremony on the beach including sand ceremony, dove release and toast

Cocktail on the beach full menu and open bar

Dinner reception at the Calabash including open bar, first dance and speeches, 630-8pm- private rental w/dj

Beach party from 8-1030pm with dj and fire dancers etc.  I may try to convince Nicole to let us party until 11pm.

If we are not exhausted by than we may continue to party at the disco for the remainder of the night :)

It doesn't make sense at all! If only we could have some answers from Nicole...

I'm just wondering what everyone is doing for dinner & reception.  From the info I have, private restaurant rental is from about 6:30 -10.  The disco can only be rented out privately until 10:30, so it doesn't make sense to do private dinner and then private disco.  But I feel like 10 pm is pretty early to call it a night, and I would like a PRIVATE reception to go a bit later into the night, like midnight at least.  I'm not sure if it makes sense to have a DJ and dancing if we have to clear out by 10 pm.  Am I missing something?  How is everyone else planning the reception?  Is there any way to have the reception last until midnight?

Hey Starrysim,

They kicked us out just after 11pm. I am sure if you talked to Nicole when you get there maybe if you pay a little extra maybe the might let you have until 12?

I did see your first answer, but there just weren't many others :)

We're doing a beach party for our welcome party - planning on bonfire and appetizers/ drinks on the beach. I'm not even planning on cocktails between the ceremony and reception - at my cousin's DW everyone just took that time to freshen up and change, and some people even went to the pool and stuff (it was 1:30 ceremony and 6 or 7 pm reception).  I think for our wedding, I'll just leave that to be free time for the guests - they can entertain themselves I'm sure, and some people will want to change clothes anyway

Here's my plan so far:

Monday welcome party:

Bonfire, open bar and appetizers on the beach.  I will only pay for 1 hour.  If people want drinks after that, I'm sure they can find their own, or waiters might be walking by anyway.

Wednesday - wedding day:

- Ceremony on the terrace ~ 3-3:30 pm

- then cake and champagne immediately after ceremony, for ~30 min.  Maybe steel pans band during this time, if budget allows (which I don't think it does. lol)

- free time for guests until reception. Wedding party to take pictures until sunset

- dinner & reception 6:30-10 (hopefully private at Calabash, but will depend on numbers), with DJ and dancing. Includes speeches, first dance, bouquet toss.  No cake, because we're doing the cake right after the ceremony. I haven't decided on open bar yet.  Does anyone know if there's a bar very close to Calabash?

So, it definitely looks like the reception will be too short. I need to ask Nicole if we can stay later.  I don't want to move to the Disco - for one, it won't be private, and two, when we tried to do this at my cousin's wedding, the crowd just split up and the night fizzled out.

I'll ask her, and I'll report back - but I'm not promising to do it SOON :)

Hey Fellow Grand Brides... I just wanted to share some AWESOME news I saw on the "Iberostar Grand Rose Hall" thread. Ms DeAngelis2Be, shared that Iberostar has now added a FREE wedding offer for Grand Brides. LOOK at this website, http://www.iberostar.com/minisitescaribe/0311_wedding/bride/

This news made my day to think of saving $3,000!!!! So of course I had to share with all you lovely ladies.... hope it works out!smile29.gif

Lizk,

you defintely need to look into another travel agent. I'm getting married the end of October of this year and we booked it last June AND we were able to lock in 2010 rates!  We just had to wait for the airfare to post this past February.  DO some research and check out other travel agents!

Good luck!

I just don't feel like 6 months is enough time to send out invites and have everyone book rooms. How long beforehand did yo ladies send out invitations?? Otherwise I'd have to send out invites that say  something like...Rates will be available in July, contact my TA for more information. Did everyone include the prices and whatnot in your invites or tell everyone that info later? I feel like i'm getting screwed on time because my wedding is in January, right at the beginning of 2012.

I already have a wedding package and date booked and my deposit down for our private beach wedding through TWJ so i'm not worried anymore about the coordinators lack of coordination at Iberostar but I was hoping we could book our rooms soon :( I just wanted to be able to give my guests as early of notice as possible so they'll have more time to plan and save money.

I need to know this too!  I am wearing sandals for reception but I do not want to wear them through the sand!
