Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

For the brides that were recently married at IRHS did you have your ceremony at home at city hall before you had the big event in Jamaica? I just got off the phone with my mother, and she's telling me to go to city hall here in the states first. But in my opinion, if we did that, then the marriage event in Jamaica would become be a renewal of the vow ceremony. I don't want that. I want the first time we say "I do" to be the first and last time. I guess my mom's worried that being that we're getting married in the islands, the marriage license/certificate will be fake lol.

Let me know guys! Thanks.

PrincessJ, I loved your review. Thanks for sharing!

Was your table at the reception square/rectangular? How many people did you have in your wedding party? I'm having 6 people in the wedding party, myself and fiance included. We are bringing table overlays with us, but I'm not sure of the size for the head table. I'll be at Aunt Ruby's at the Suites, but I would estimate a similar layout. Any thoughts?

Hi Vaneska:

Not sure about the upgrade price, but I'm sure you called the hotel or travel agent they would tell you. We are not paying for an upgrade we are just hoping they do it when we check in! Fingers crossed....

My FI will be staying in his brother's room or one of his friend's room the night before. We definitely didn't want the expense of another hotel night.

Also is anyone going to purchase a separate a  room for the groom the night before the wedding?

Islandgirl,

We're getting married the day before we leave, either at a church or city hall. I wanted to get married officially in Jamaica, but my FI wanted it done on "American soil" first. :) Haha. Soooo.... I got to pick the resort but he got the marriage here first. Basically I have to convince myself I'm just going through the motions here, but not really considering it official (to myself) until the ceremony. And we're calling it a marriage "ceremony", instead of a renewal of vows, which seems weird. But, as I've told my FI, it gives us an excuse to celebrate our marriage for 3 days every year!!! From the day we have the actual marriage until the day we do the ceremony! Personally I'd be just as happy to just do it in Jamaica, but if that concession makes him happy, so be it!

The tables at aunt rubys are 72 inches round - not square - this is what I was told and purchased overlays based on this!

Thanks for your reply. I spoke about it with my fiance and we read through the documents that Nicole provides to all brides and I do know that the ceremony in JA is legal. So I'm not going to stress. I am going to email Nicole just to make sure there are no hidden surprises and that everything is legit.
