My Uncle is a judge and he's coming to the wedding so I think it'd be more special if he were able to marry us legally. I'm sure there's some certifications or something he'd have to look into, and I've inquired with the resort but haven't heard back just yet so I thought I'd check with you ladies!

My step-father is also a judge.  He did the ceremony in Jamaica, however it is not legal outside his jurisdiction so he would have to leagally marry you before you left.  We did that 3 days before we left with immediate family only and didn't tell anyone

3 days before? We were told we'd have to provide the marriage certificate 2 weeks before, which means doing that about 3-5 months before.... Odd!

I don't know how the packages have changed for the new rates but we did the Blessed by the Sea, not legal and just told them we had someone doing the ceremony for us... they never asked for a marriage license and we didn't do the "signing" table either...

What hotel are you getting married at?

Hello fellow brides,

Just wanted to make you aware of an issue I am having with a vendor that was referred to me through word of mouth on this site. I used Robert Dunkley and DVS video for my wedding in June. He was a pleasure to work with before and during the wedding, However I have not heard from him since my wedding day, and he is not answering any of my calls or emails. I have also been hearing that he is doing the same to other brides as well. I am pretty sure that he took my money and ran. I have even gone as far as contacting him under a fake email claiming to be a bride trying to book his services, he got back to me right away and was trying to have me book him. Once I confronted him and told him who I was he dropped all communication again. I am heartbroken over this issue because not only did I lose a big chunk of money but I also lost alot of memories that he captured,. I wanted to warn you all so you do not have to go through the same thing I am dealing with.

Good Luck!

Kristi

Question....how did you handle the down payments for the outside vendors? I feel nervous sending someone I've never met/ so far away money via western union or deposit into their account??
I made sure I went with vendors that I found info on here about. I felt more comfortable knowing other brides tried them out before I did. ;-)

Carajoe - I dont think you can because there will be other diners at the other part of the restaurant.
