Is the water safe to drink in Jamaica?

Ok, so I asked the owner of Evita's restaurant in Ocho Rios and here is what she said...Yes, the water is safe to drink here and so is the ice, as a matter of fact all the cruise ships stop in Ocho Rios to buy water and, I always tell people that buying bottled water in Jamaica is a waste of $$$, Jamaica is the 'land of wood and water', that is what the word Xamaica means.

This is so great to know!!! It was my number one concern!! We went to Dominican and the groom came out for the ceremony and then had to go right back to his room because he was so sick!

We drank bottled water but used the ice in the restaurants without any problems
