At home teeth whitening systems….??

Recommended Posts

I'm actually going to start up on them real soon, I aready have the crest ones at home. So my question for you ladies, how many days did it take before you noticed a difference? My wedding is 7 weeks away, when would you recommend I start, mind you I'm a coffee drinker..

Well Tammy, it takes 2 weeks to do one "cycle" of it. The week before your wedding you'll be too stressed w/running around trying to get everything you need. I'd say do it 3 weeks before. Fresh white smile for the wedding, but not the added stress the week before!

I also used the crest premium whitestrips also, and wow did it make my teeth sensitive! I stuck with it though and found that I started to notice a difference in about a week. Did it about a month before the wedding so it stayed good, am starting to notice a difference again already though. Am a coffee drinker also, so must really affect them more than I realised!

I have also used Crest whitestrips and really liked them but my teeth are super sensitive as well and they bothered me a little. My FI's best friend is a dentist so he did my molds for whitening, and i have to say they are so much stronger than crest white strips and my teeth kill me afterwards. I have to take advil a couple of hours later because it is so painful. The results are really good though. It is suppose to be a 6 day system. I never can do 6 days in a row.

I'm going to to list the things to do for sensitive teeth, that I got from him.

I hope this helps some of you.

Pre-brushing twice a day for 2 weeks prior to beginning whitening treatment with a toothpaste formulated for sensitive teeht (sensodyne, colgate sensitive maximum strength, crest sensitivity protection) and continuing throughout treatment can significantly reduce sensitivity.

You may elect to whiten only one arch at a time ( beginning with the upper).

Minimize the intake of foods & beverages which are high in acid (fruit juices, sodas, white wine and yogurt).

Minimize the use of toothpastes containing abrasives (tarter control, etc.)

Do not brush immediately prior to inserting your whitening trays/strips

Remember to minimize consumption of foods & beverages that may stain your teeth, and reduce tobacco use.

Good Luck Whitening!
