How are you ladies getting the backrounds?

Ladies can you share with me how you are getting the backrounds on your DIY items. I can't seem to get the same results, I tried watermarks but it just doesn't look right. I also tried clip art and that looks cheesey too....

 

I see some of the logos and I would love to be able to do it. Any help or advice would be awesome
