I was totally the same way. I didnt even want to go dress shopping in July and my wedding is in December. But you do the things that need to get done, and everything else falls into place. I look at the planning threads and assume I must be the worst bride ever because I am not doing all this extra stuff, but I am glad to hear that other brides feel the same. I have been saying that I am missing the bride gene or something, but I guess its common!

I think that the fact that its a DW means it needs less planning time for us than an at home wedding (at least for me) since we have WCs. So its hard to get that excited when its kind of far away. Mine is in 2 weeks, and I am now getting so excited. You will too when its closer!

I was the exact same way girls, no worries. I didn't do all the extra stuff.. oot bags, travel itinerarys etc.

The only thing I had to plan was booking the resort, my dress, invitations and packing. Yes, it was a bit of a nightmare at the end due to a not-so-cooperative TA, but otherwise, it's as stressful as you make it with all the extra stuff.

We had 9 guests, and it was perfect for us. No fuss. Everything else was done at the resort. We didn't have an AHR either. Whatever. We don't need a big public (expensive) party to show off we were married.

I actually feel the same with you, Harty. I told my fiance that I want a long engagement at the moment because I need to prioritize other things before we tie the knot. He said it's okay that we gonna have a long engagement, we get plenty of time to know each other more and more, adjusting to the engaged phase.
