Congratulations petals, everything sounded great despite the rain! I'm going to check out you teaser pics as soon as i can, at work right now :)

One question, do they supply a set up for you to play music during the ceremony or do you have to rent and does it have to be a CD or can you use an ipod? Also would anyone know if it does have to be a CD do they have any trouble playing burned CDs? I know you have to rent speakers for the reception.

Thanks!

Hi Ladies!

Your reviews are great.

Trinkit, I'm glad to hear that's how you felt about the GP Jamaica!

I've been to the GP in Mexico before and knew what we were getting into.

I was out of my comfort zone for a bit, but I'm just going with the flow now.

Danalauren....I will definitely let you know how things transpire!

We leave on Friday... We do not have our ceremony location or reception dinner accommodations confirmed yet....OY! I'm over stressing now.

From Petal's Review and Trinkit's I am confident that everything will be wonderful and work out just fine.

The countdown is on!

Cheers ladies (and gents)!

Petals,

Your photos are absolutely gorgeous!! I get married on June 19th and you have helped to put me at ease as I know June is the rainy season. I am glad the spa is just as beautiful.

Were you pleased with the U shape setup at the reception? We have about 65 guests and I will most likely go with the U shape but wanted to know how your guests liked it.

Congrats!!

Has anyone tried to have a meet & greet type dinner for your guests the day/night before the wedding? We would like to have a spot for about 25-30 people. We asked Jacenthyia but her response was vague and sounded like we would have to pay more money per person, similiar to the reception.

Thanks! We didn't expect to get rained out, because usually it would just be a downpour and then clear right back up, but of course our wedding day was the exception... lol I've heard that some of the other brides were really heartbroken about the rain but I actually liked the spa setup & thought it was beautiful.

I was happy with the U-shape at the reception, but we had some internal drama with our seating (forgot the placecards at home and the friend we delegated seating responsibility to took advantage of the open bar throughout the day and wasn't much help at all.... censored.gif). But the guests I've talked to said they enjoyed the U-shape overall. They were generally seated next to some people they knew, but were close to some they had never met, so a lot of different groups got to talk!

Jascynthia helped us reserve a table for 20 (for the bridal party & parents, etc.) so that we could have a rehearsal dinner at the Xaymaica restaurant the night before the wedding. She told us we'd have to do a set menu but when we got to the restaurant, the staff told us we could order whatever we wanted from the menu.

It didn't cost us anything extra.

It worked out well, although about 15 extra wedding guests showed up... we just placed them at all the tables surrounding the huge table for 20.

Trinkit, Thanks for all your information.

You know I have a question for you...I asked Jascynthia about having a light reception right after the wedding (we are at the gazebo) and she told me this was not possible.

But it sounds like you were able to do this Cocktail Party:

"we decided to have an appetizer/cocktail party between the ceremony and dinner. We chose to do it at the gazebo on the cliff…great location! We hired the steel band. It was tones of fun! We also wanted a big bucket of red stripe, so Jacynthia arranged that for us as well, the cost was $100 for that (the red stripe that is). Cost of the reception was $15 per person (min. 25 people)."

Please give me a little more info...did they set up tables at the gazebo?

Also, Petals I am so happy for you and glad to hear that all went well.

I am still torn between the dj, steel band, or the saxophonist.

I have reserved the Posideon for a private reception and the dj..but i think we are going to go for the ipod and have the saxophonist play at the ceremony.

Did anyone hear the saxophonist while there?

I returned home from the Grand Palladium on Sat and after 10 days there, Sat was the highlight of my trip......going home!!!

If you can re book your resort I urge you too......my wedding on May 25th was a disaster!!! Jascynthia didn't "coordinate" anything.....flowers weren't delivered on time.....chairs were uncovered and taken from seated guests minutes after the ceremony.....raw chicken was served......the pool was treated w/ chemicals below us causing people to go into coughing fits.......food took so long guest w/ kids left to go to the buffet.....we were downgraded from the honeymoon villa we booked......when we finally got the honeymoon villa, it filled with raw sewerage........our next room had ants everywhere!!!!! I can go on and have pictures off this if anyone wants to see, I am so disappointed after all the time and planning I put into my wedding, it was ruined.......

My photographers Monica and Chris from Monica Z Photography were awesome......they helped us so much, and took amazing photos!!!!!!

I thought this resort was new but tiles are missing all over the pools, A/C in rooms and restaurants never work, ceilings in the restaurants and rooms were falling apart, leakeing everywhere, rooms smelled of mold, power went out at least 5 times a day......I can go on and on.......

It was so bad the accting general manager gave us a complete refund of the wedding expenses and "vacation"!

I hope some of you are able to re book I would hate for someone else to experience the wedding I had.

I'm sorry to freak you guys out, but I wish I had know the condition of the resort and the service of the staff before I booked, I wish so much that I changed resorts, we would have left the resort but we had over 40 guests staying with us and couldn't all move. I felt so bad bringing my guests to this resort, I was so embrassed......we had 19 rooms and everyone of them had a problem!! I didn't even get to spend time with my family and friends because I spent most of the time in the lobbby trying to resolve problem over problem with the front desk, guest relations, and the general manager.

If you have to keep your reservations at this resort, I would demand to speak to Jascynthia, if you don't get her the Manager of the resort is Jose Morgan, and the Acting General Manager is Jose Cardino, he is from the Mexico GP, filling in until they replace the General Mnager at GP Jamaica. The only way to get anoyne to do anything for you at this resort is to demad it and I am a ery quiet, shy person so this was hard to do.

Also although the set up on the beach looks nice in pictures,( it was right out side my homeymoon villa that flooded with sewerage) there is a drainage ditch right next to it and sewerage flows down it into the ocean.......NASTY!

Also I recommend getting your on photographer, the resort photograper is so bad we had a hard time picking out the 8 free pictures....not one of them were good our friends and family did better! Jascynthia was in the backgound of some of the pictures.

If anyone wants anymore info or if I can help with staff memeber names and email please let me know!!!

Good Luck if you can't cancel your wedding here, and if you can I hope you do so you wouldn't have to feel how my husband and I did.

Wow, Imdels, that sounds horrible. I'm so sorry you had such a terrible experience.

Petals only got married a few days before you and had a much more pleasant experience, and so did Traci and other brides that were there in the last month. I know there's 2 resorts there - Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton and Grand Palladium Jamaica - were your rooms at one, and the other brides at another?
