Anyone done the blood test in Mexico??

Recommended Posts

I am a little nervous and somewhat concerned about having to do the blood test down in Mexico the days before my wedding... has anyone already done this? As I hate needles and anything to do with them... some advice would really help me out!!! Thanks! :)

Yes, I noticed you are getting married at El Dorado Seaside, a Karisma resort. I got married at Azul Beach, also a Karisma resort. It was SO EASY!!!! I have had blood drwan on a few occasions, and get ill everytime...I didn't even FEEL it, I swear! The nurse that came to our room didn't speak any english, but the wedding coordinator was with her. she was so gentle. My stepfather was there who is a doc (I made sure he was there in case I passed out!), and even he commented on how good she was. You have nothing to worry about.

DH and I got our blood taken in Mexico!

We got married at the Barcelo Maya Palace. On the resorts property there is a medical office. This is were we went to get our blood work. The Dr there didnt speak the best English, but I come from a Chilean family, so I speak perfect Spanish. It helped... Most resorts do have a medical office...

DH is terrified of having his blood taken. He's fine with needles but not good with blood being drawn. We just had him lie down, and he was fine. Also, I was talking to him the whole time, to distract him.

It all worked out in the end.

If you can have your FH talk you thru it, you'll be fine :) best of luck

Make sure you have your FI there to talk you through it and don't look at the needle! If you're not looking at it a lot of times you don't even feel it!

Having blood drawn doesn't really bother me, but I am nervous that it will leave a mark for my wedding day...I am very pale and bruise very easily and almost every time I have blood drawn I am left with a giant bruise on my arm sad.gif

I'm hoping it will at least be gone before the big day sad.gif

Hello, I am getting married in the Mayan Riviera Nov 2009 (we are just waiting on final quotes to come back from our travel agent). I know a friend who was married last year and had her wedding take place at the Royal resort. She said the blood work was not sketchy at all. Very professional and clean so no need to worry. It will be alright!

Take care

I'm so glad someone asked this - I was worried about it too. I've been leaning towards Jamaica for the wedding, just because I didn't want to have a blood test done. But, everyones responses are very reassuring, maybe I'll have to reconsider.

Does anyone know about the chest x-rays? Where are these carried out? Apparently, they aren't required in all areas of Mexico? Does anyone know anything about this?

I know...I thought the same thing when I read "chest Xrays" and I have been told and checked some of the paper work I received back from two different wedding coordinators at resorts and neither stated a chest X ray was required. The only thing that was required was the blood work. The Mayan Riviera does not require chest X rays no need to worry about that : )

Yeah I heard about that too... but luckily at my resort all they require is the blood work! So thats a good thing.. don't know if I could have handled that too!!! But all these comments are soooo reassurring! They have helped me relax about the whole situation! So thank you ladies! Keep the advice or comments coming!!!
