Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for posting the pics of the Rooftop Terrace and the Lobby Terrace -- it puts everything into a whole different perspective.  I have seen some other photos where neither location looked especially nice, but your photos are making me reconsider...

I'm having a 'welcome' brunch the morning after we arrive in the buffet and there was no additional charge. The hotel seems to be picky about making reservations at the restaurants. You have to be a "privilege" guest to make reservations and you can only reserver for/with other privilege guests.

Thanks @ajhutch! :)

I really love the lit paper lanterns hanging across the lobby terrace like @sandyborie used! That is absolutely stunning (I recopied her video link below for those who haven't seen her videography).

My fiancee and I aren't using a planner, but I was wondering if anyone knows...  does Ana have lit paper lanterns that we could rent from the resort, OR, if I brought my own - would she or the staff hang them for me?

Also - any suggestions on where to buy these types of round paper lanterns to hang?

Hi girls!

I just got my wedding highlight video and OMG!!!!

I felt the need to share just how magical OCT was!!!!!

Here is the link:

We went with Paul Schrank from Playaweddings. . .They did an amazing job and not once did I or my husband feel like we were being video taped. Everything he captured was completely authentic.

Worth looking into if you are in the market for a true professional!

Hello fellow OCT brides!

My wedding date is June 25, 2013 and have been making great headway so far.  Got the dress, the BM dresses and the photographer booked.  I am doing some research now into the package options at the resort.  My FI and I would like to save as much money as possible as we are planning on putting a down payment on a house and hoping for a honeymoon baby so we were thinking of doing the a la carte option for our reception but then I see pictures of the outdoor reception with the dancing etc. and I want that too.  Has anyone on here had the reception at the a la carte?  We have approximately 45 people coming.  We were thinking of bringing our BOSE sounddock with us and having our own party on the beach lol!  Not sure how that would go over with the resort however.  I also saw that you can have a bonfire on the beach for an additional cost, anyone done that?

We opted for a destination wedding to relieve some stress and cost, I didn't realize how much actually goes into a wedding destination or not, yikes!   SO much to do!

Thanks so much for any advice!!

xoxo

Rachelle

Hi Rachelle, My wedding was on June 2, 2012. I wanted to have a bonfire the night before as a welcome party, but you cannot be on the beach after 7pm between may and November because it is the turtle season. We gave up on that since before 7 seemed to be too early. Same about a beach party for the actual wedding. We had a la carte on the lobby terrace and it was amazing. We were outside but ladies appreciated being able to wear high heals :) Well sorry to ruin some of your plans (bonfire/ bech party). I would still check with Ana, who knows maybe they changed rules. Happy planning!

ladies, I have had a lot of trouble planning my wedding since being switched to working with Angelica.  I finally got fed up after emailing her 5 times and calling twice in a one month period of time with no response.  I spoke with the resort manager, Alejandro, and he will be switching me back to Ana. (fingers crossed.)  He asked me to email him so he will have all the facts.  I would advise you to all do the same if you have a problem working with Angelica.

Alajandro's email address is:

[email protected]

Best of Luck!
