Hi everyone,

I'm just starting planning a wedding in August 08. We've narrowed destinations down to the US Virgin Islands or Key West and am leaning pretty heavily towards St Croix right now. Any advice on what to focus on in the beginning planning stages would be much appreciated!

Other than focusing on which location has the site you're most in love with, i would also focus on what is in your budget and what would be more affordable for guests. At this point I researched flight costs, hotel/villa costs, etc.

I honestly didn't do any other planning until i got my exact location decided.

Welcome! Jessica is right - it's hard to plan much more w/o knowing your date and location.

You could always start making a guest list, and think about when you want to send out your Save the Dates. If photography is important to you, you may want to start looking at your options there as well - at least narrow it down to your top favorites so that once you do have the date/place - you can find out who is available.

Let us know if we can help!

sounds like youre gettting some good advice. its easier to start visualizing your day once you have the place. then i would start thinking about photographers. i already have about 7 weddings for next year. things seem to be filling up faster than the year before.

after you get those things out of the way id move on to the dress!!! and how fun is that! sometimes i miss wedding planning. i wish i could go dress shopping.

congrats :)
