Can anyone direct me to....

Can anyone direct me to photos of weddings?

The reason is because my honey and his family are worried because I have a regular wedding dress (nothing super fancy, but it is a Maggie Sottero...Reagan) instead of a super casual beach dress and he is wearing the basic white linen pant and shirt that we ordered from Island Importer. They're worried I will look over-dressed and he will look under-dressed.

I told them it'll be just fine and that many people having DW's dress this way. But I'd like to show them some pictures.

I've tried the search tool, but if I search "photos," imagine all the threads that pop up.....I can't find what I'm looking for.

Any help is appreciated!

We have a "share your wedding photos" sub forum. Have you perused that site?

Anyways, I had a maggie dress and my DH wore linen pants with a white button up. A link to my pics is in my siggy. Good Luck. I think it will look good and don't waste too much time trying to "prove" to them it will look good. It's your wedding. wink.gif

Geez, do we have the same in-laws? My MIL said the same thing! I'm wearing a Maggie Sottero "Carla" dress. I told her he wouldn't look silly but she won't give it a rest. I just don't talk about it around her anymore since I think she's just grasping at straws trying to nitpick my wedding. My attitude towards her mentality is a big "F-U" hehe.

Anyway, I'm sure you will look great together. Do what makes you happy!

I am with the last few girls! I am wearing maggie's diana with a chapel length veil..I keep joking to my mom and sister that I will look like I walked out of the church and on to the beach and they tell me "it's your wedding wear whatever you like"

I do agree that my FMIL would complain about it...if I told her...but I gave her the big FU a little while ago so she doesn't get a say anymore.

I would just tell them "thank you for your opinion" and drop it. You will look stunning and you don't have to have to prove it to ANYONE!

I'm sure your FI will want what makes you happy (seems to be the safest position for them) :)

Thanks for all the replies ladies!

Of course, we aren't going to change anything that we've planned, I just wanted to be able to "prove it" by seeing some of your beautiful DW photos.

Here's another question for you ladies...... My dress is Diamond White (not quite Ivory) and his linen is white-white. I don't have my dress home yet and my first fitting isn't for a few weeks so I can't compare the two next to each other right now. Do you think my dress will look "dirty" compared to his white-white? (I never would have used the word "dirty," but it is just another passing comment I've had made to me.)

What other colors are going to be incorporated with your wedding?

I agree with everyone else. Hubby is wearing tan pants and a white on white hawaiian shirt and I have a gown. Originally I wanted a strapless A line with nothing on it, but ended up with the organza and beads (which I thought might be too fancy, but now I realize the beading will catch the sun, yeah!!)

Most beach wedding pics I have seen on here are like that in some way shape or form. (gown with men's beachy outfit). Probably because a gown can look lovely on the beach, whereas the tux you would expect in a church or hall would look misplaced on the beach unless its a very formal beach wedding (also beautiful).

You're all good...
