making a background lighter/transparent

Recommended Posts

I have a word document and I've made the background of the document that has multiple text boxes covering it, coloured by an image.

I'm wondering how do I get that image to be lighter or sort of semi-transparent.

Basically I don't want to use up that much coloured ink! But I'd like there to be that image in the background still.

If the transparency box isn't clickable, try ungrouping the image (you may have to do it over and over) - only problem is that every single component of the image will then become "free" so they'll be movable, deletable, etc. Do it in a secondary file and then highlight all of the components, and see if the transparency is then clickable.

Once you get it to a lighter image, regroup everything so that it all stays in place.

Good luck!
