As you can tell I'm at work & bored..so I was thinking about our get together and thought it would be a good idea to do a "Get To Know You"

I'll start by picking a topic and after everyone answers we'll start a new topic.

Where Do You Work?

I am employed with Canada Post as a Supervisor in the Transportation Department (Parcel Delivery). I will be moving to London Mid-Late January and will be working at a Letter Carrier Depot. I currently work 11am - 7pm Monday to Friday - however with Christmas coming I will be working 3 weeks straight until late at night..AARRGGHH SAVE ME!!!!

Im an RN. I work in Kitchener in ICU (Intensive Care) I worked in London in CCU (Coronary Care) for 3 years. Ive been working in KW for 2 years. I work 12 hr shifts. 2 Days, 2 Nights - 5 off. Sounds great, but after working too many weekends, holidays, missing out on enough events that friends and family hold, missing games and tournaments for hockey and ball - it gets a bit old.

Im at work right now -- looking at all the snow, hopefully Ill be able to drive home to Ingersoll tomorrow morning. Ugh!

Yay! RN's with Kate names are the best. Law school, eh? I'd love to change careers, but it's not in the budget atm. Drive home was surprisingly dry!

This is for the K's ;-)

Do either of you know of a Dr. H (ya long shot - don't remember how to spell or say his name) that works at the London Hospital - the teaching hospital?

Apparently he is a Lipid Specialist etc. or whatever you call them - ya I'm not good at this - anyway...my daugther has high cholesterol (another long story) and is being referred to him because we are moving to London. She currently sees a specialist at the Pediatric Lipid Clinic through Mac and apparently they don't have a Pediatric Lipid Clinic in London.

Any thoughts?!?!?!

Im of no help, sorry! Im strictly an "adults only" kinda nurse. I know nothing of any of the physicians that work in Paeds. LHSC has a good paeds reputation though...

Apparently he is an adults only doctor but will see children who are in need because there are only 2 ped. lipid clinics in ontario - Hamilton & London. Just curious wink.gif

Thanks for the article!

I have no intention of medicating her at all. She was diagnosed 3 years ago with high cholesterol. Apparently it's genetic. She is on a strict diet but it doesn't help at all. If anything it's preventing her from gaining weight. She is 7 (well almost) 4 feet tall & 44 lbs..skin & bones!!

Anyway...this was totally off topic..sorry!

How did I miss this thread!!!??

You girls are going to have to send me a PM when you start these!! LOL

I haven't really kept up with the new threads...just what I am already subscribed to!

Keep me updated on Kayla. Wish there was a solution I could offer, but I'm sure the doctor will take good care of her!

My job....

I am a Civil Engineering Technologist by trade, but my current title is an AutoCAD Technologist. I work at a concrete manufacturing plant (when I'm not on BDW that is!!) - I do the shop drawings to make the big concrete pipe & manholes.

FYI...here is the link for the Get Together that we have planned for Feb.21st (location still to be determined!) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t32771
