Quick question for all the brides..have any of you used the outside vendor Dj Doremixx? They have been great to work with so far.  Even after paying the resort vendor fee, the DJ is significantly less expensive than the in-house DJ.  Let me know if anyone has any experience working with them.  Thanks!

When I got my quote for Doremixx and added the vendor fee they were $400 more than the in house DJ.  You must have got a really good quote!

You've got to be careful about what the in-house DJ includes in their package and how long they will be at your reception.  We went with the outside DJ because we were able to get the lighted dance floor, cold fireworks display and 4 hours at our reception for quite a bit less money than what the in-house DJ charges for all of that.  He has been great to work with so far.

Hi guys! I'm 29 days away from my big day.  Nayeli actually emailed ME yesterday to ask for my choices on food, flowers, cake etc to get my wedding planner finished up.  That was a shock! Quick questions...Have any past brides mailed any wedding stuff to the resort beforehand? I am trying to avoid paying the ridiculous baggage prices through US Airways.  Let me know, thanks!

You just need to take care of that with the currier company. I just would like to suggestyou to verify with the currier company that you are using, preferably

xico CP.77400" When I priced two 40 lb. boxes of items with the least expensive option, it was still more expensive to ship than it was to buy extra luggage and pay extra baggage fees. I.E. 10 day shipping time from Boston to Mexico of a 30 lb. box with a value of $100 (i was underestimating) is $257 US dollars. When I traveled, I just packed most of my clothes in a duffle bag and the decoration in the regular suitcase. That way on the return trip, after I had used/disposed of the items from the wedding, I folded the duffles into the regular suitcase to avoid the extra bag fee on the way home.

 

Also, keep in mind that there is a $300 per person limit for items that you can bring into the country duty free. We got around this by distributing the extra suit cases to family members and this also avoided the issue of EXCESS baggage. Between  my husband and I we had 6 full size suitcases and 2 carryons (including my gown). We took 4 of the 6 and distributed the other 2 to my Mom/Dad. Also, we divided things by the monetary value per each suitcase, and included receipts in each bag, keeping it under $300. I had to make a few of my own receipts on Microsoft Word because we would have been over the limit, but it worked out perfectly for us! Good luck to you!
