A groom didn't show up at the altar? What?!!! Was he drunk and passed out somewhere? Or he just didn't want to get married? Yikes!!! But I guess it's better to walk away than be in miserable relationship.

That's expensive table decoration that didn't even work. Yeah I would be upset too. So weird how the wind was that strong even away from beach. How far was the beach from your reception, and at what time was your reception?

I have been to EPM in May two years ago, and it was extremely windy one day out of 9 days, so I guess it comes and goes. Crappy wind!

Not even joking, the Friday wedding before us the groom didnt show up to the alter!! Can you imagine!! Well, dont, thats crazy!

We paid $200 bucks for our table to be lined with tall pillars filled with water and floating candles and since the wind is so nuts, not one single candle stayed lit for more than a second. I was pretty sad about that and am still contemplating asking for my money back.

The long table was great for us, very intimate and everyone felt like a part of the family... It was nice :)

I brought paper lanterns as well, I just love how they look in pics!! Unfortunately due to the wind they wouldnt stay up for us :/

I hope the wind is a fluke for us and dies down for you guys!

Yeah that's sad. I wonder why he waited until wedding day to walk away. Usually people don't wake up on wedding day and have a crazy thought, but who knows. That really sucks for the bride and the guests.

Thanks Sharon!

I have no idea why the groom didnt show up! We were just told about it while we were getting ready for our wedding. I had so any questions about it but no one had any answers :/ Possibly he was drunk, groomsmen have a way with wanting to get the groom as drunk as possible! Luckily we agreed to a 2 drink max before the wedding and then all is game after :) I didnt even get a sip of alcohol though, I was too nervous and didnt want red eyes in my pics!! (although that went to hell b/c I pretty much cried the entire time!)

We got our wedding video yesterday! Its so adorable, but hard to watch myself on film. I just look so unnatural, I could never be an actress :)

Yesterday the wind wasnt too bad, the day before we had a romantic dinner on the beach and the wind blew over an entire bottle of full champagne onto my dress and then the huge bamboo structure broke off the concrete and almost hit us, we had to run for cover and had to finish our meal on a brick wall. So, I guess the wind does come and go!! Hopefully it goes for you all!! Also since it wasnt too windy last night I wore my hair down and curly and the wind still took my curls from me! Stupid wind, I just want my hair down already!!

We had our reception at the private terrace away from the beach. It was really pretty and it was windy but completely manageable, and didnt bother us, with the exception of my poor candles!

That is sooooooo sad. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I can't begin to imagine how she feels. I wouldn't know where to start.....by telling the guest, trying to get him back to Mexico, idk. I would be in so much shock & clueless at the same time. Guess at some point I would have had to put on my big girl panties & figure it out. I want to cry for her. But on the other hand I would be glad I didn't make the decision to marry someone like that anyway. :(

Ok. I know these things happen in movies, but I am so sad for this real bride at our resort. I hope she has lots of love from everyone around her right now.

How do you transition from news like that?

On a lighter note?... I just bought my paper lanters with rush shipping (thanks to NRN - that's No Response N). The site I bought them from has free returns if we do not use them, so there's always that option if it's to windy. I hope the wind decides to behave itself soon.

lciz - Were you in the middle of your photo shoot when the champagne and bamboo things tipped over? Those would be quite the photos. I don't think I said how awesome your shoes looked. Well all of your photos take my breath away, thank you for sharing. I'm with you on the drinking, my FI and I are such light drinkers I'm toast after one glass of champagne, so we'll probably not drink before and only a few afterwards...but who knows, things always change in the moment.

lliaPSU - Thanks for the info on hanging the lanterns. How the lanterns get hung was one of my questions for NRN (her name will be "N" again once I hear from her). A fee of $100/20 ($5.00 each) seems really steep considering the lanters were $1.55 each. Maybe I'll just hand them myself.

That's what I was thinking too MsBlissMpls. I'll hang stuff myself, and decorate centerpiece myself if I need to. Some of these prices are little outrageous.

Oh my god! There must have been some red flags before this wedding date, something is just not right. censored.gif

But it's confirmed he did leave the country and someone knows exactly where he is? I would be worried about kidnapping. One has to consider all the possibilities.
