What are you walking down the Aisle to?

What a great bunch of songs on here! 

 

I am just wondering, forgive me if this is a silly question, but when does the Groom and best mangrooms men walk in...do they get a song as well? 

 

Also, if doing a symbolic ceremony I think I have seen that we sign a certificate to make it look "official" but is this a long process that will also require a song, or not?

We did not do a song for groom, but you can do it if you want to and we did a song for signing registrar, it is not very long process, but long enough to have it is own song

I am walking down the aisle to 'Forever' by Ben Harper and my fiance and my first dance is to 'Love of My Life" by Dave Matthews and Santana and the father/daughter dance is going to be to "That's How Strong My Love Is" by Otis Redding.

 

I am just struggling to come up with a good mother/son song.

Love Ben Harper! We aren't going to use him for the first dance because FI already had something in mind, but I want to incorporate a song of his somewhere. Hadn't thought about walking down the aisle, but that could be an option!

I don't think it's a silly question. We had a song for the groom (combined with the ringbearer; we didn't have any groomsmen). He chose 1,2,3,4 by the Plain White T's.

 

As for the signing, I think it would be nice to have a song for it but if you choose not to, then that's fine too! We didn't do that but we did a greeting of our parents and the guests for which we played a song as well.

we havent finished picking all of our music yet, but this is what we have so far:

 

guests & groom entrance - not sure yet?

my entrance - not sure either lol 

signing/sand ceremony - i think i like somewhere over the rainbow (seems popular lol)

walking out - good life - one republic 

first dance - crazy love - michael buble

 

i will have to read more posts on here to get ideas for the entrances!

We leave Tuesday but still have a few decisions yet to make regarding dance songs and cake cutting song.  However, our ceremony music is finalized as is our reception entrance song and dinner music.  For the ceremony we have a violinist.  It was challenging to decide but we are going more classical with some of these choices:

 

Processional:  Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring

Bride:  Canon in D

Sand Ceremony Music:  "Storybook Love" by Mark Knopfler (from "The Princess Bride")

Recessional:  La Rejouissance

I am still in my early planning stages although so far I love the following songs...just bit sure where to incorporate where yet - but will share my initial thoughts - AND I AM SURE THEY WILL CHANGE 100 TIMES!  LOL!

 

1. Marry Me Train  - predictable, huh? - maybe maybe maybe walk down the aisle to an acoustic no lyric version
2. We Are Man & Wife - Michelle Featherstone - maybe while we sign the civil/legal ceremony documents
3. A Thousand Years - Christina Perri
4. This Years Love - David Gray  - another option to walking down the aisle or entrance of FI & ring bearer (no groomsmen)
5. Run - Matt Nathanson & Sugarland - not sure, but love it!!
6. Will You Still Love Me - Amy Tiger - First Dance or You & Me - Lifehouse - which is OUR SONG
