OMG! Yes!! well not exactly invites but asking if they are going to be in the wedding party!! can you believe it! first Hans†sister asked if her BF/babyâ€s daddy would be a GM, uh NO! Then the other night I was at a party and Hanâ€s friend starts talking to me about the wedding. I told him that I was sending the STDâ€s by the end of the week w/ more info and he asks if those are the ones that I was sending to our wedding party. I said no, they are for everyone. Then he proceeds to tell me that he hopes that Hans would ask him to be a GM. (I told hans NO! He already has 10!) Then his good guy friend thinks heâ€s going to be the BM. He is a GM but we decided to have MOHs and Bestmen for all our wedding party since I canâ€t decide on a MOH.

Oh my gosh Amy, I can't believe people ask to be in your wedding party!! I would be so shocked! That kind of happened to Aaron - he and his childhood friend had a deep, meaningful talk (who knew guys had these?!) a bunch of years ago and he promised Devon that he could be his Best Man. Fast forward to telling Devon about the engagement and he just assumed Aaron still wanted him as his best man! (Aaron barely remembers this conversation). Anyways, he wanted his dad as his best man, and Devon as one of his groomsman, so he just made both of them co-best men. It didn't really bother Aaron because he and Devon are still friends. I can't imagine having people who don't even know if they'll even be invited ask to be in the wedding party though!

I totally feel for everyone --- we originally planned on having a family wedding with only our parents and our siblings, but our friends jumped on board and now we are having a 25 person wedding which is fine, but my personal cutoff. My FI feels bad everytime someone assumes they are invited and feels like he should invite them and I have had to train him that this is a TINY DESTINATION WEDDING ----VERY INTIMATE and not for every schmuck we have ever met. My friends are way to polite to assume they are invited but his friends aren't so he has 17 of the 25 guests and I have 6 which means if we would reopen the invites, it would be for my friends...people are sooo dense...I had a friend's mom I just met ask if she was invited...and even worse, my FI ex girlfriend who we were friends with but who has decided she wants nothing to do with us since we got engaged - her mom thinks she might be invited...ARE YOU KIDDING MEhuh.gif?

No one has asked us - but I think in the beginning I made it very clear that is was SMALL. In the end I did end up inviting my girlfriends at work but we actually have each others phone numbers, spend time outside of work occassionally and I definitely know their last name! I dont' think any of them are coming but if I hadn't invited them they never would have invited themselves! CRAZY!

You guys crack me up, thanks I needed all of your comments!! The sensitive girl is 36 years old and said she's never been out of the U.S. - um, so what? I had someone months ago ask me the date so she could book her trip early. So these people know it's in Mexico, damn opportunists! And how sad is it that they would spend a grand to vacation with someone who didn't ask them? All I can do is laugh and say um, no it's small and in Mexico for my FRIENDS and FAMILY.

I did invite 3 people from work and actually a few guys at work are groomsmen - BUT - these are people we've known for years, vacation with, spend Thanksgiving with, etc. These other co-workers overhear talk of plans and get their panties in a bunch. If I didn't have a sense of humor I would have turned violent by now I swear.

And Amy the fact that someone would ask to be in your bridal party is also ridiculous! People wanting to bring extra kids and the ex's mom who wants an invite are totally out of line .... are they serious? Who raised these people?!?!?

That is so funny . . . people told me the same thing. Yeah, the wedding is in 2 months and I never got your address, don't hold your breath!

HA! I have you all beat!

My FI's family friend actually mentioned that our date we chose for the wedding wasn't good because her kid was still in school! Um.....hello..you weren't invited and we are not changing the date so your kid can come to Cancun! Can you believe it? She actually asked if the date was set in stone or if we were thinking about having it a week later!

Needless to say, I flat out told her, that we didn't want children at the wedding and purposly chose that date because school is still in session!

It still makes me both laugh and steam out the ears!

Was she offended? That's what always cracks me up---- when people get *soooo* offended when someone either doesn't like kids or doesn't want them at a function.... like the whole world is suppose to love their kid simply because they do....
