RMB Reception

What is everyone planning on doing for their reception? Are you going to do the dinner at the steak house or a private reception on the beach or confrence room? I would love to do the private beach reception but i don't know it it's worth it to pay the extra money...what do you all think?

Well my plans are always subject to change, however for now, I plan to have dinner at the Steakhouse and then I reserved the disco for later, only for a couple of hours since they open it up th the public at 10:30. I was considering a rum punch cocktail hour while we take pics, but still undecided about that.

We have the Mahoe Bay (steakhouse) booked for our free dinner and we're undecided about renting the disco. Seems silly to rent it when it opens up to everyone later on anyway. We're not sure what we'll do between 8:30 and 10:30 so maybe we will end up renting the disco. Kinda looking for ideas too.

I could probably go through all the things she sent me but does anyone know off hand how much the rum punch/champagne cocktail cost?

I would've LOVED to do the beach bbq but it didin't make sense to pay that much extra for the set up and then pay per person. I'm assuming you'd have to pay for the bartender too. Either way, I didn't think it was necessary since it's all-inclusive and we're kind of on a tight budget.

Thanks Trice!

- Is it horrible to not have the cocktail between the ceremony and the dinner and just let the guests watch our pics getting done and/or hang out on the resort? I know the cocktail is nice but it just seems silly to pay extra for stuff at an all-inclusive resort.

Also, for those of you not renting the disco...what do you plan on doing between the dinner and the opening of the disco?

Your welcome.

No, I don't think it matters since they can hang out and get drinks on their own. I didn't plan to have the cocktail hour until I was put in the 2nd dinner seating since the first seating was already booked. My wedding is at 4pm and we won't have the reception dinner until 9pm. Yes, 9pm so I decided to do the cocktail hour. I am still deciding if I want to do my cake cutting during the cocktail since dinner will be so late. I didn't want to rent the conference room for a private reception. I am considering an option off site but it really depends on the number of guest I end up with.
