Has anyone gone to the Maui Swap Meet?

Hi Maui Brides!

 

Have any of you gone to the Maui Swap Meet?

 

I've been to the one on Oahu, which was HUGE. It was a great place for knick knacks, and arts and crafts. If the Maui swap meet has the same kind of stuff, I figure it would be a great place to stop to get some items for our OOT bags we are planning.

Where is the swap meet? Maybe by the airport? I heard of a big market near the airport that's only open on saturdays but we didn't get to it.

 

Kihei has a couple of markets where we bought some cool stuff

I guess it is suppose to be the equivalent of the swap meet at Oahu's Aloha Stadium... though not as big.

 

From what I can see it used to be at the Kahului Post Office, but I read that it moved to the Maui Community College. 7am to 1pm every Saturday.

 

MAUI SWAP MEET

 

I've been to the shopping areas in Kihei, but supposedly the swap meets carry the same stuff just cheaper. Plus, it's suppose to have produce.

You've got it exactly right! I live in Maui and yes, I've been to the swap meet here. It's not as big as the one on Oahu but it's still big. There's lots of arts & crafts, jewelry, sarongs, produce, etc. Lots of different booths and everything is a lot cheaper than you will find around the rest of the island, as far as souvenirs go. Hope that helps!

I was looking at pictures of the Maui swap meet and they seem to have some cool looking items. I may opt for sarongs instead of pashminas for nice gift for the girls.

That's a good idea, everyone needs a sarong!! It's a lot of fun if you have the time on a Saturday!

I wish I knew about this before I booked

I will be in on a Monday & then wedding is Saturday..

 

Anyone find something worth buying from the meet?
