Wine recommendations please

I need good wine recommendations. I don't like the dryness of red or how it temporarily discolors teeth (anal I knowsmile116.gif) so I'm asking for blush wine drinkers to gimme some ideas. I like more of a sweet fruity taste. We are going to the mountains this weekend so I'll run to store after work! I have more fun off wine these days, for some reason I become pissed off at the world when I drink beer/liquor. Wine makes me giggle so wine it will be! elefant.gif

You should try a Pinot Noir.

Rose's are also good, but it can be tough to find good ones. You might like Little Black Dress Syrah Rose.

But honestly, a Pinot Noir is your best bet for a lighter style red w/o the dryness of the heavier reds.

Pinots I recommend include:

La Crema

Toasted Head Barrel Reserve (make sure it says Barrel Reserve on the bottle neck)

Cono Sur

The beaujolais is a lighter red also - similar to a pinot noir.

When you say 'blush' you are usually either referring to a white zinfandel or to a rose. Rose's are typically red grapes that have been pressed, which helps to remove some of the harsher tannins.

Also, you would probably like a torrontes, which is a white grape from Argentina - just based on you saying that you typically prefer sweeter style wines.

Jac - you know Tami sells wine, right? So listen to her, she knows what she is talking about! And you also described what I like about wine (not dry and more towards fruity), so I will perhaps try some of these that Tami listed...

I usually just drink Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. The lighter in color they are, the more I like them usually. And Matt also found that I tend to like Australian wine. He pays attention to that crap, I had never noticed!

Hey Jac,

Yep, it's my job, lol. ;-) Can't beat a job where you get to drink on the clock - hehe.

It's a little harder to make a solid recommendation when we are just talking about wine online, but I am pretty certain you will like my recommendations.

Oh, and you mentioned Australian wines - are you talking about whites or reds? Because Australia is known if their Shiraz - heavier red with dpicy undertones - oftentimes dry and highly tannic (gives you that bite in the back of your mouth on your first stip).

But with whites, the Australian Rieslings can be either sweet or dry - so if there are any particular wines (by name) that you KNOW you like, let me know and I can make some parallel recommendations.
