Hey ladies...

To the brides who have had a beach ceremony (with the new, larger pergola), have any of you upraded your chairs (to tiffany)?  If so, do you have photos?  I am having trouble finding photos of the setup with anything other than the standard white w/ white covers.

I don't want to have chair covers, and I'm debating on upgrading to the white or mahogany tiffany chairs, but would like to see what each looks like with the beach ceremony setup.  My colors are neutrals (brown, linen, and ivory) with greens (from dark to lime), so I thought the mahogany chairs w/ ivory sashes and greenery/flowers would look nice and elegant.

Please post if you have pics!  :)

Thanks!!

Hi Lola, What types of things are you taking and how are you packing them? If you are taking any cardboard boxes, call the airline to confirm that there are no box embargos for Mexico during the dates you are flying. They do that every now and then. Other than that, we flew AA with lots of stuff with no problems. Even when we got to MX, I pushed the red button and they didn't open my boxes, just checked my suitcase. It was painless (other than trying to lug all of that stuff around the airport). just be aware of what you can and cannot take in to Mexico (no starfish).

As far as my experience, I packed my wedding stuff in cardboard boxes and checked it with the airline. They asked me what was in the boxes and I told them maracas, gift bags, hand sanitizer, lotions, koozies, etc). They said OK and I never heard another thing about it. We landed in MX, our boxes were sitting there with our luggage at baggage claim. We went through immigration and nobody asked or seemed to care. The only issue was trying to carry all of it with only two of us. If you push the red button, the most they would want to do would be to look in your stuff quickly.

THANK YOU . . but NO STARFISH??? I have not heard that? And I have starfish decor for my chair sashes and napkin rings??!!??!! What do I do?

I plan to pack everything in suitcases.  And then dispense them among guests also, to not go over the $300 per person limit.

Did you put together your 'hangover kits' prior to leaving and travel with them like that? Or did you travel with everything seperate and then assemble bags there?

Hi! I have read about some brides having trouble getting starfish into the country. They were sea life before they were dead, so that is probably why. You could always try but I have heard that they may confiscate those.

Wedding items are excluded from having to pay taxes on, so you don't have to worry about the $300 limit on your wedding stuff. As far as gift bags, you may need to be under the $300 limit, but that can be split between you and our soon to be hubby I believe...not completely sure about that.

For my OOT bags, I had everything sorted out here and then just put each person or couple's bag contents into a separate plastic ziploc bag. Once we arrived at the resort, we put the contents into the actual gift bags.

I'm a little worried about the starfish too.  I'm planning on using them for the seating cards.  I've seen pictures of people using that stuff so I guess it's hit or miss.  I may have to come up with a backup plan just in case they get confiscated.

Can we talk about photos again? I have Juan booked and special photo package 1 (5 hours). I'm Starting to think this might be too much time since now I'm not really going to have much of a reception. Most of the other packages are 3 hours. Will that be enough time? What photo package is every one else getting? If I switch to package 5 for 3 hours I will get 250 digital images. That just doesn't sound like it is that many pictures. But if I can pick the pictures that i get then it might be ok. I'm also doing the TTD the following day.

We're doing photo package 6, which is also 3 hours but includes all of the negatives.  I'm not sure if it's worth an extra $200 over package 5.  Otherwise they are the same.

When I was deciding on how much time and which package I emailed Juan.  I was impressed that he wasn't pushing for extra time like other places I contacted.  I'm guessing 3 hours will be enough for you.  If you're not sure, I would email him and just tell him what you want and he'll tell you how much time you need.  That's what I did.

Hi Newloves,

We did special package number 1. It gave us enough time to have them come early and do photos of us getting ready, then the ceremony and photos after. We went to the mansion next door and did photos there. After that we went to the cocktail hour which was pretty much over and he took photos of us doing the cake cutting, toasts, and first dance and mother/son dance. We did all of that before dinner. 5 hours was up at that point and it went by really fast. If you are not having a reception, 3 hours would be fine. He could def make it work for you.

He sent me about 800 proofs about 4 weeks after the wedding. I went through and chose what photos or what size I wanted. He has printed them and I am waiting for the Fed Ex package now!

I was also looking at package 6 but I wasn't sure if having all the negatives was worth the extra money. I emailed him earlier this week to ask about a few things but haven't heard back yet. Since my date is getting closer I don't have much patience. Has anyone gotten the album? Or know if all the packages come with the same type of album? They all say that they do, but the "special packages" are worded differently. I've learned to double check everything that's worded a little bit different.
