And I meant to add . .  I spent an entire day listening to music on You Tube to compile my list, and I was just a water well of tears. It really helped bring me back to reality that I am marrying my best friend, and all these other wedding details have really made me a crazy obsessed bride to be LOL!!!!!!

 

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Great song choices!!  I'm just starting to think of some of this stuff.  I love that you guys are doing the Mother/Son, Father/Daughter dance in the same song.  I wanted to do something like that but I wasn't sure if that was a good idea.  Now I feel better about it.  :-)  Are you dancing the whole song at the same time or are you and your father dancing for one half and he and his mom the other half?

FIRST DANCE SONG: Maybe Im Amazed (Paul McCartney), with my fireworks cued for the when the first song ends!

FATHER DAUGHTER / MOTHER SON DANCE:  We have agreed to all share this song, but have no idea what to play that is appropriate for both. SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED!!!!

 

I  have over six months to adjust this list, but love hearing what all of ya'll are playing as well.

Haha!  YES!! Me too!!  Glad I'm not the only one.  Listing to music for the wedding or watching wedding shows on tv...never fails.  It's a good thing we're taking pictures before the ceremony :-)  Thank goodness for waterproof mascara!!

What is everyone doing for their reception decor? I'm thinking about bringing my own chair sashes and tablecloths and paying the small set up fee. They are charging $5 per chair bow, I can get them online for like .60 each, and/or maybe have someone in my wedding party set it up. I'm only going to have about 20 people. $20 for a bag or rose petals sounds pretty outrageous to me. I'm trying not to blow my budget on little stuff like decorations for a 3 hour reception. Does anyone have any good ideas?

I'm still deciding what I'm going to do with decor.  I'm with you on not blowing the budget so I'm trying to decide the best use of it in this area.  We're not having a bridal party so we're saving money not having to buy flowers for everyone.  I do want to incorporate flowers somewhere though.  I want to do rose petals for the aisle but $20 a bag could add up fast. Do you know how big a bag is? I'd love to know how many bags we would need.  I'm still on the fence about chair sashes.  If I decide to do them I'll bring my own.  I'm guessing I can get a couple friends to tie them on for us.  I believe they charge $2 a piece to tie them on if you bring your own.

It all adds up so fast! Cecilia sent me a bunch of pictures of reception set up decorations but all it says is *extra cost*. I don't know how much. I read they charge $2 per bow, but in her last email Cecilia said $1 per person. Maybe that means they will not use the same chairs for the reception that they do for the ceremony. I found some nice colored overlay table cloths really cheap. I think it will add a big pop of color and really make it look nice. Everything included in the ultimate package is white. I think I'm gonna bring cheap fake rose petals for the isle. I think it will still look nice. I'm curious what type of lighting there is if I have my reception at the gazebo, does anyone know? I do not want to have to pay for extra lighting, even though it looks nice I just don't want to spend the extra cost.

I'm doing my own chair sashes and centerpieces. I have lots of the wax LED candles for the tables as well. We aren't purchasing any additional lighting, flowers, or decor. We can use our bouquets. I have 2 bridesmaids.

I would like to purchase rose petals for the isle to give it some color. My sashes are ivory and my bridesmaids are a bright blue. I'm thinking one bag should be enough. If not, I would probably just opt out. Maybe I would splurge on 2 bags, but def not more than that.

Also, @newlove, I don't think that they will allow fake petals. Is your ceremony on the beach?

I think the overlays are a great idea. That is something I may look into, but I think we are pretty much done with the spending!
