Is anyone else having a hard time choosing songs for the ceremony? I've been searching online for awhile, and still don't know what to do. I never thought this would be a hard decision. What are you all playing?

 

Also, I'm using the sound system, Does anyone know what we need to bring to play the music? Like a cd, ipod or something?

I've been listening to potential music all afternoon
This after my initial playlist was apparently "so depressing it was going to make everyone jump into the pool & try to drown themselves" according to my boyfriend. Haha, I guess I'm looking for some more upbeat ceremony songs. Admittedly I do have a soft spot for mega sappy songs.

I'm interested in what you guys had in mind.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one having a hard time with this. I've been thinking about this for months, and now I only have 1 month to figure this out! I'm also looking for more upbeat ceremony songs, and maybe something with a latin beat.

Well, I'll be happy to share my playlist. It's tentative and I'm still working on it.

I'm using all Vitamin String Quartet songs for my ceremony. I don't want any singing for the ceremony, only instrumental. I just didn't really feel like the traditional classical songs fit us or our wedding so I still get some classical but also not traditional.

So for the prelude I have in this order (remember all VSQ songs, so all string quartet if you aren't familiar with the group).

Wouldn't it be nice (beach boys)

You're My Best Friend (Queen)

Bubbly (Colby Calait)

And It Stoned Me (Van Morrison)

 

 Then for my fiance (he is walking our mom's down together), and our wedding party: We Belong (Pat Benetar/Blair's wedding rendetion)

My song: Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis/Michael Buble)

Interlude (not really sure what the interlude is so I just picked something I like): Blackbird(Beatles). Not sure about that song yet though.

Postlude or exit song: All you need is love (the Beatles).

This is a work in progress, and I have several songs that I will need to cut out, but this is my preliminary list:

 

PRELUDE: Stand by Me, Wild Horses (Rolling Stones), Marry Me (Train), Free (Zac Brown Band), Better Together (Jack Johnson), Shes Got a Way (Billy Joel), Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers) 
GROOM WALK PARENTS: Instrumental of Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughn) -  He wants this for personal ties to the song . .

ATTENDANTS WALK DOWN AISLE: A Little Help From My Friends (Beatles)

BRIDE ENTRANCE: Cannon in D OR From This Moment (Shania Twain)  - My fiance isnt a huge country fan like I am so debating this  . .  he prefers traditional music.  Plus, I think I will be a crying mess if I walk down to 'From This Moment' . . but the words are SO appropriate!

DURING THE CEREMONY: No list YET Need to write ceremony script first.

FATHER DAUGHTER / MOTHER SON DANCE:  We have agreed to all share this song, but have no idea what to play that is appropriate for both. SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED!!!!
