Seating Charts...Good or Not?

Did anyone who got married at ROR and make a seating chart for their dinner? I think we are having our dinner at Mammee Bay. I'm not sure if it would be better to have a seating chart and place cards for everyone, or if we should let everyone pick their seats. I'm afraid if we let everyone pick their seats, couples will get split up and our immediate families will not sit together. On the other hand, if I make a seating chart, who will put the place cards out?

I think if you have a large group, a seating chart could be good. If not... people can find their way.

i think if you dont have any people that wil cause bad drama sitting close together, to go to with the laid back idea of a DW i would just let people pick where they want to sit even if some people dont get to sit together they get to still have a vacation together so they should be ok with it

I don't think i'll do a seating chart, but there is just so many darn cute ideas for escort cards i will do those.

so true. I love the starfish place cards, maybe I can figure out something else to do with them.

Haven't decided....going to see how many people there are, what the table set up will be like, and if I have time to make them

I am doing place cards with 2 long tables, I had 2 people I needed on separate tables and separate ends. So I didn't want everyone seated then the last 2 seats together would be them lol I only have 30 guests though so I don't think it will be much of a biggie them finding their seats.

I'll be doing a seating chart. That way our friends can sit together and there's not the awkward... 'can you move down a seat?' question.

I think sometimes place cards make it easier for the guests.  They don't need to make any decisions that way.
