Best Company to use for creating your own website

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a wedding website for guests to check information? What company did you use to create the page and were you happy with the result? Were they easy to use? Or have you been to a wedding where the couple had a website. Did you find it useful or is it a waste of my time?

There are so many different companies offering this now and I wasn't sure which one to go with. Plus they seem to range in price from free to $100 or so. I feel like you get a bit better product if you pay at least something plus if its free there are usually advertisements on your website and that just seems tacky. Any thoughts.....

I used wedorama.com. If your a knot member, there was a coupon for half off, so it ended up begin $35 for the year...it doesn't have as many "planning tools" as other sites, but we didn't need that...we just wanted something where guests could go for information. I actually did a free trial at 5 or 6 places (most offer 1-2 weeks free) to try them out to see which one I liked best and decided on wedorama. You can check out my page at www.rachelandscott.net (password is mexico) and also check out this link Reviews of the Best Wedding Websites where they have rated the top 10 best wedding sites...very helpful! Good luck!

I also vote for mywedding.com. It's free, very easy to use, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I was able to put all the info my guests need on it. There is an RSVP, music suggestion, guest book, and a "Contact Us" function that allows guests to message you directly from the webpage rather than just listing your email address.

The one thing I wish was different is the wedpass function. Guests have to actually register on mywedding.com using their email and a password and THEN enter the wedpass. It wasn't a problem for most people, but some not-so-computer-savy guests needed help figuring out how to get on the website so I ended up turning off the wedpass function. It was nice when it was on though because it showed me who looked at the page and their email address in case I needed to email anyone.

I have not noticed any advertisements on my website and no one has gotten any spam from mywedding.com that I know of.

All in all, I am very happy with mywedding.com and it's free!

We used momentville.com which is free and easy to use. Can log RSVP, Contact Us section, upload photos.

The only thing to think about when doing these websites is my FI's mom googled herself and found our webpage before we sent out the info, so just know that it is public info for anyone to see.
