Yeah, I think anyone some what pays for the own wedding these days, especially destination weddings. I think also that if they want to though or can that you should let them, because then you can relax a bit and if there is something that you really want that might be somewhat extra in their eyes then you can pay for it.

For us, we are paying for EVERYTHING by ourselves!

If one of your parents or family wants to help... by all means, let them. The costs add up so fast.

Personally, Fh and I have given up our social life for a week of partying in DR for our wedding with our nearest and dearest. And it will be a week of intense partying; given we aren't going to have partied in a year. =)
