I agree! There was a whole conversation about this on the radio this morning. People don't even put out flags anymore for Veteran's Day! To be honest, I totally forget it was today. For some reason I thought it was next week.

 

Thank you to all those who have served our country and fought for our freedoms' and liberties, as I surely don't have the guts to do what they do!

in Canada today is Rememberance Day for us..its like Veterans Day....but i think the younger generations in both countries dont understand how important it is what happened in those wars and that we should be thankful...its pretty sad

 

my FI went over the PA system at his work (a retail store) and asked if everyone could observe a minute of silence and stop what they were doing and he said not one person stopped or seemed to care....but both my Great-Grandfathers served in World War 2 and i will always be thankful for them our world would be so different if the veterans werent brave many many years ago..THANK YOU! i would never be as brave as they were

I'm so proud of the elementary school I work at. They had a huge celebration this morning and brought in veterans from the Lions Club and people currently serving. We have military vehicles parked outside so the kids can see them up close. We had several presentations, the kids sang the National Anthem together, and a poster/essay contest about the meaning of liberty, freedom, and service. Members of the military are visiting classrooms all day and having lunch with the kids. So cool to get the kids involved!

 

My grandfather was a WWII veteran and received two purple hearts. I'm for sure thinking about his bravery and service to our country today!
