Renting a villa for wedding

The 750.00 wedding site fee doesn't include anything, it is just for wear and tear on the house.

The one problem getting married at a house instead of a hotel is that I can't just get a wedding package....Our chef is actually coming with us, we will buy all the food/drinks ourselves. I will probably hire someone to bar tend.

I chose this house so I also didn't have to rent tables/chairs, as there are plenty for buffet style dinner.

The price of the house doesn't change if we have more people, although there is a maximum.

There is 7 bedrooms, so I don't want more than 16 people staying there, even though the house is big, I'd prefer not to have every couch being slept on!

Still working on the rest of the details...

Hello my name is Natalie and I live in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I also have rented the Casa Fantastica for my wedding. My wedding is planned for Feb 2010, how about you? Are you getting married at the house or are you and your party heading down to the beach. Are you using a planner recommended from the Casa. Perhaps we can share information. Glad I found you on the link. Thanks Natalie

I am new to this so I hope I am posting this correctly! I am getting married in Quepos/Manuel Antonio in Feb 2010. We have rented Casa Fantastica for the week. Has anyone hosted a wedding their? We will only have 12 people staying at the house for the week, and 16 or so for the wedding itself. I am unsure where to have my small ceremony, at the beach or at the Casa. Has anyone worked with a wedding planner through the Casa's rental agency. Any help or advise would be sincerely appreciated.

A couple of days ago I had a chance to see a wedding going on at Casa Fantastica. Beautiful! Before seeing this place I had other favorites on my list, this place definitely tops all of them. It is at the end of a steep road just after the entrance to The Mariposa Hotel. Make sure you rent a 4x4 (you will need all traction to get up the hill). It is quiet, cool (no neighbors) Amazing, fantastic! view from its pool and a great place for a wedding reception, up to 50-60 guests (very comfortably). Very intimate, great option for a real close & intimate destination wedding.

Eliza,

I see you are renting 1 villa but your guest count far exceeds the amount of people that can stay at the villa. Where are your other guests staying? Nearby hotel? I was thinking about renting a villa for people that would stay the entire week and that are closest to us and then have everyone else stay at a nearby hotel.

Thanks for any info.!

Jamie

Hi! We just returned from a site visit and absolutely loved our villa! It's Villa Flor de Cabrera in the Dominican Republic. 10 bedrooms and private casita for the bride and groom. It has a pool, on the beach, has a chef, wedding coordinator, concierge, host, and laundress on site.
