we have a wedding website through wedding window but we have our own domain (my.com) that we bought through godaddy.com. our wedding website is about to expire and we are starting a family blog -

we want to move the blog (blogger) to our domain (my.com) anyone know how to do this - do i have to buy hosting? if so, any recommendations?

TIA! :)

how did you get your own domain for wedding window? did you buy it through them? are you wanting to now transfer that to your blogger site?

if you don't care to use the same domain you had before, the easiest way is to register your domain with godaddy via blogger. I'm just not sure how you'd do it if you wanted to keep it the same as what you had with wedding window.

Steps for getting a personal domain in blogger:

Settings

publishing

switch to CUSTOM DOMAIN

then just follow the steps- very quick & easy. it's usually $10 a year through godaddy.

aah cool thread- i want to do this.

however, i acquired our url through weddingtracker.com, so they now own it (even though our website has since expired) and now i can't purchase it through godaddy or anyone else- i have to use weddingtracker which is owned by the knot. i hate the knot!

Alyssa,

I could probably get it cheaper, but I use Yahoo hosting, which has Wordpress all built in. If you're considering going to wordpress (I like it better) it might be a good option. It's definitely not the cheapest, and I'd rather support a small business, but it's so easy I can't quit it!
