I recently stayed at this resort and it is a beautiful resort to host a wedding. The food isn't the best, but the service is good and people are friendly. In my book, that more than makes up for a couple of so-so meals.I saw a wedding while we were there and it was beautiful.

So who is next to have their wedding!

I am getting excited we have about a month left.

Not sure if any of you have been working with Paola the wedding coordinator but it seems she is no longer there and now Maria is their main contact.

I have the ceremony left to plan.... I think we are going to incorporate the lasso ceremony instead of the sand or hand ceremony. Any ideas are welcome. I don't know why this part is so hard to come up with ideas.

Hope all your wedding planning is going well.

Hi ladies, I leave on Friday! Eek!

I was just wondering if there is a blow dryer and an iron in every room? We are not staying in the Riviera section.

Also, reading all the reviews about having to pay $50 to replace a towel or a towel card is freaking me out. And the lack of chairs by the pool is disappointing. i hope I didn't make a mistake.

Everything is making me stress out sad.gif

Exciting!!!

Yes, there are blow dryers in every room on the Beach Side. Some have the really sucky ones that are a long tube and others have real blow dryers. If quality of dryers is important to you, bring your own...or your hair probably won't look the same!

As for the beach chairs and lost towel card fee...out of the 33 people we had...no one lost their card. And the chairs can be hard to come by at times, but it's like anywhere else. It will only be a big deal if you let it. It was never a huge concern for us or anyone in our party.

Relax....and enjoy! I let the small stuff get to me too much and didn't have the most relaxing time and looking back it makes me so upset that I didn't just chill out more and enjoy! Promise us all that you will!!!

Let us know how it was, when you get back!

P.S. I forgot to mention...the 'Beach' side pool does get really crowded so if you want less people and a nicer pool...go to the Riviera side! There's hardly anyone there plus there is a swim up bar at that pool and its WAY nicer!

Has anyone stayed there for their wedding and honeymoon?? The reason I ask is bc we were planning on going to The Eldorado Royale for our Honeymoon, but Im afraid of prices and I havent even found out yet. I have never stayed at the same resort for more hten 7 days at a time and Im wondering if it would get boring and whether or not we should change. Even if it doesnt end up being the honeymoon resort we want - we could pick another one if that makes more sense then staying at Sandos.

Any input would help :0

Oh and does anyone know of a cottage or something along those lines that you can rent that is on the beach? Maybe do that instead of a resort for the honeymoon....hmmm...

THanks!!!

Thanks for the advice. Everyone keeps telling me to relax. I just really want everyone to be happy.

You can only use the Riviera pool if you are staying in that section right?
You can use any part of the resort no matter which side you are staying on (except for the 'Royal Elite areas' which are small roped off areas). So yes, you can use the Riviera side pool all you like!

We had so many different people with us, including my aunt and uncle who go to Mexico about 4 x a year and everyone loved the resort! I know what it feels like to have that pressure, and I was so nervous too, but I was so relieved when I got there and my aunt and uncle had been there a few days already, and said they were loving it!

We only stayed the 7 days but if we had stayed for our honeymoon I might have switched, just for the sake of making the most of our time there and checking out different places. What about the Royal, which is right downtown on 5th Ave? It looks beautiful and it's adults only, which would be great for a honeymoon and the location is excellent!

While we were down there we heard of some really need hacienda type places by Tulum. They are not all inclusive but more secluded and probably more romantic.

We are coming back and then going to the Dominican Republic for 9 days. But I think I would switch it up, personally... however I think Sandos would be fun for a longer period of time. It is so close to Cozumel, Tulum and Cancun you could take plenty of day trips or what not.

Has anyone had their hair and make-up done at the resort (or planning to)? I was debating between having it done there, doing it myself or hiring someone to come it?

Enjoy your week if you are the next headed off for some fun and sun!
