Question--

I have read reviews here and there, and am wondering, what is the best section of the resort to stay in? Id like our group to be close to eachother, and would not have a long walk to and from our room.

Can everyone let me know where they stayed or what they recommend?

Hi Alyssa,

We had guest staying in all three ares of the resort so I'll try to give you the pros and cons of each.

The Riviera section:

Pros

  • It's newer and classier.
  • Close to great  à la carte restos and there is a small lunch and breakfast place
  • Adults only section is quiet
  • Nice pool

Cons

  • Not ideal for kids
  • farther away from main buffets which has a better breakfast selection
  • walk to the beach

Must note:  the 10 minute walk is exaggerated, you can easily be at the beach in 6 and there are shuttles.

Haciendas:

Pros

  • Quiet, the pools are privet and there isn't much action ( I guess that could be a con if you like animation)
  • You could easily reserve a whole building

Cons

  • Oldest part of the hotel, the decor is lacking and the showers a little unseemly

The Beach Section:

Pros

  • Close to all the action, buffets and main pool
  • Cheapest
  • Beach front and select club rooms are of superior quality.

Cons

  • Noisy pool front rooms
  • Decor and level of renovation varied from room to room.

So it's up to what you're looking for, A fun group that will spend lots of time in the main pool or beach? Then The beach section. A small group that wants things tranquil, then the Haciendas. No kids and you want luxury and tranquility, then The Riviera or beach front rooms depending on your budget.

Hi everyone!

Well, my wedding at Sandos is only one week away!  Lupita the wedding planner has been amazing through everything, answering all my questions promptly, etc. I am excited to meet her. Does anybody have any gift suggestions for a wedding planner?

I am returning home May 4th so will give you all an update shortly after that!

Im sure a wedding planner would appreciate cash but how much is what Im wondering as well.

Also I am wondering if anyone has decorated the disco or their dinner space (is it worth it?).  I would like to have some personalization but the thought of taking so much stuff with me or shipping it and it mysteriously disappears, worries me.

Please help with your experiences and advice!

Thanks,

Tara

Also has anyone had their dinner in the Mediterranean restaurant?  I know its not air conditioned (which isn't fun) My fiance is insisting a sit down dinner is more formal but I see most people had their dinners in the Italian restaurant.  I'm wondering how it looked and if the food was good there?

Getting nervous, wedding is in June!!!

Thanks,

Tara

I'm curious too about decorating the disco and dinner area. I can't imagine shipping everything down, and I'm not crazy about traveling with decor. I must admit I am having a hard time dealing with not knowing what the resort looks like specifically the restaurant and disco.

HOLA Kayla...

I wanted to show you a few images that stood out to me, fun details and scene setters that showcase the venue and their efforts to make an event AMAZING.   This wedding slideshow is a must to watch, no matter what, we recommend hiring THIS VERY Mariachi crew... wow, they are amazing and include the guests and this kind of emotion is priceless.
