Which Resort Should We Choose?

Which did you end up choosing?

I am also torn between which resort to choose. I have been looking into the El Dorado Royal and Royale Playa del Carmen, but am open to other suggestions as well. We are looking for somewhere fun but romantic; with a great pool atmosphere, great beach where you can relax, good food but also the option of some night life (lively lounge with music) so we have the option to mingle and have fun on one or two nights. Doesn't have to have a disco or anything, just a lounge with some atmosphere.

What is the lounge scene like at the EDR and Royale PDC? do they have entertainment?

Nikki, we are looking for the same aspects in a honeymoon resort. We are trying to choose between Royal Playa Del Carmen and Excellence Riviera Cancun, but can't decide. I've never been to either, but my fiance's parents were at Royal PDC last year and loved it. I'm just not sure I want to be that close to "town" on our honeymoon. Decisions, decisions...

I am getting married at Aventura and so excited.  I have heard great things about it!

Alisa - I'm getting married at Aventura, too! We have been there and absolutely loved it. When we went before, though, the entire resort was adults-only, so I'm not sure how it has changed since kids are allowed on one half now. I'm sure it's still great.

 Hello, I LOVE The Royal PDC and I'm getting married there May 1, 2011.

 

It's definitly not quiet and serene like the other resorts that are along the main road/highway. 

 

We picked this resort because of location, we didn't want our guests to be bored or have to take a cab anywhere.  We also enjoyed walking into town every night after dinner and going into the shops.  We really enjoyed the little town and knowing it's only a block away.

We are doing Secrets Slivlersands, I wanted an adult only location as well.  It's a fairly new hotel too, its only been open since 2009.
