Photography at the Riu Palace - Personal Friend Taking Photos

So I read the thread regarding to photography and professional people coming from off site but what about if one of my guests is going to be taking photos I know it seems a dumb question to ask but she will be right in the action as much as possible and taking our photos after the ceremony on the beach etc. Do you think they would be upset about this? I would rather her take pictures because she will take 10 times the amount that anyone else will and I will get them all.

You might want to ask the Riu. Generally this sort of thing isn't a problem unless the other person taking photos has a professional level camera and lenses... funny how that works huh? lol

Problem is that she does....she's not professional but it's her hobby / passion sort of thing.

I think as long as she is a paying guest there should be no problem. Are you getting pics with your package? When I first booked I was going to and I was just going to have them do the guys getting ready. Then we decided to bring our own and went with the classic package. I had 26 guest and they were fine with it.

i would think it's fine too since she is a paying guest. they can not tell your friend that she is not allowed to take pictures, know what I mean? She's staying there and she is your friend. Wow, your wedding day is so soon! Can't wait to see your pics when you come back!

Kelly C - we are doing the same thing. The hotel photographer will do our ceremony pictures and then our friend will do all others such as the guys getting ready and the girls getting ready. The best part is that she will be with us all the time so we should have some nightclub ones too which will be great!

Lisa - we are soooo excited. We fly out Sunday morning at like 6:30 AM!!!

I don't think it should be a problem. I am getting married at the Riu Santa Fe and they know I will be having a separate photographer besides the resorts, they just requested that I pay the day pass, which I have no problem with. Seeing as the person you want to photograph your wedding is staying at the resort, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
