Post here if you are getting married in Jamaica

Recommended Posts

We loved Sandals Grande Ocho rios, but we were not married on the beach.  The beach there is quite small and not much privacy.  I've heard that Sandals Negril and Sandals Whitehouse both have beautiful beach weddings.  I have to say, Sandals/Beaches really has the wedding thing down.  We felt like we were the only ones getting married that day.  It was amazing.

Hey, everyone!  We are getting married in Jamaica in December 2011, but still working on the specifics like resort and date!  Hopefully, this should all be nailed down soon.

Any advice is welcome, just know that price is a big factor.  So no Moon Dance Villas for us, although they look incredible!

Sandals has some really good prices.  Montego Bay has the stay at one play at three for a seclection for your guests.  Sandals Grande Ocho Rios offers the cheapest choice for Butler service.  We stayed for 9 nights for 3250!  Not too bad.  Plus I felt that they were the most all inclusive (sandals in general) and the wedding was free if you stayed in Concierge or higher.

Sandals looks nice, but we have several kids in our group so it won't work for us although we are looking into Beaches.  I just hope its not too kid-friendly bc someone on here posted about doing a site visit and seeing Sesame Street characters!  We don't have kids ourselves, just nieces and nephews and I don't want to be surrounded by screaming, splashing kids on my wedding.

We have one cousin coming who is 12 (my fiance only has two cousins so we couldn't not invite him).  We had looked into the Sandals, but it wouldn't work either.  The Beaches resorts looked nice but I didn't want Seasame Street Characters running around either...lol!  And at twelve he was a little too old for that :)
