Readings at ROR ceremonies??

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of ceremony questions...I've searched for the answers already but no luck! I apologize if this has already been discussed, if so please point me in the right direction!

Has everyone who has gotten married at the ROR followed the same ceremony "template"? What is the ceremony like? Short? Does the minister say much? How long does the ceremony run? Did you choose readings or not have any? Did anyone prepare their own vows? Are they open to the couple having lots of say in the ceremony itself?

Thanks everyone!!!

I am referring to the civil ceremony as well. I referred to the minister because my TA told me that she thought a minister performs the ceremony regardless of whether it is civil or religious.

I just thought of another question...Did anyone bring their own "readings"? We would like a passage read from a book but I didn't know if this would be ok?

My plan was to plan my vows, readings and ring ceramony. I am giving a print out to my fiancee. He will have to opportunity right before the ceramony to talk with the minister. I have broken down by the welcome, the vows, the rings, reading, etc. It has what we would like the minister to say but that he could also add in around it anything he wanted/needed to. We are having a guest at our wedding do a reading.

I hope this can be done.

I had the religious ceremony. Chandlyn sent their vow wording but we wanted to write our own so we did & I had a friend do the reading of the sand ceremony.

Your ceremony can be done how you like it. If you don't like the vow wording that they provide, you can change it. They are very open to changing anything that you want.

Just have everything printed out-vows, readings, etc, when you arrive & give it to Chandlyn at your meeting. She will give all instructions to the officiant.

The ceremony itself was short & the officiant/minister bascially just said a few things about the importance of marriage....He wasn't long winded & didn't say anything off the cuff! Everyone thought he did a great job.

I want to say that it was really short. I don't think it was more than 30 minutes, maybe even say 20. My MOH came down the aisle, then the FG, then me. Then the minister said a few words, there was a prayer, vows, sand ceremony, signed the papers....done! So without the sand ceremony, it will def be maybe 15-20 mins.

Do you still have the print out of the vows Chandlyn sent out to you, I would love to see it. If you still have it could you send it to me please?
